Recently I've watched The Friends of Eddie Coyle, and Thunder Road both with Robert Mitchum.
Also I saw 12 O Clock High and Father Goose with Gregory Peck. I enjoy the older movies, my wife just shakes her head.

He was good in the 1962 version of Cape Fear. The 1991 version is awesome with Robert De Niro.

Sorry to correct you Brian - but it was Cary Grant, not Gregory Peck. Easy mistake to make as both were incredible actors!

Those movies you mentioned are all great!

I'm a huge fan of the classics. Especially westerns.

Speaking of Gregory Peck......have you ever seen "How the West was Won"? Narrated by Spencer Tracy. All star cast.

Both versions are great but the De Niro version is truly disturbing.

- Did you know Robert Mitchum played the part of "Lieutenant Elgart"? (1991 version)

I noticed that when I was posting above. Gregory Peck is in both versions as well!

No worries. I'll check out How The West Was Won. It's usually on TCM
A good one I saw recently was The Lineup, a cops/robbers movie based in San Francisco

The Wasteland on Netflix
A movie that resembles one of del Toros....as in Pans Labyrinth or Antlers, but not nearly as good.
Some may like it a lot.

"So yea, it was OK... It has a stellar cast and the special effects were excellent.

I enjoyed it but it's not what I would call a great movie.
But you do get to see a flash of Meryl Streep's bottom. lol"

(My edited post from the PARF thread about this movie)

This Freaks from 1932 is a little different. Directed by Tod Browning, who also directed Dracula.

Just watched, London has fallen. Over the top action movie. More bombs, shootouts and car chases than a James Bond movie. Mindless entertainment, dont expect a lot and you wont be let down.

Not a great movie but interesting...Remember the Sultana. Worst maritime disaster in US history. Memphis, steamboat, Union soldiers returning home. Most just out of Andersonville. Pretty gruesome.

Bet you never heard of it.

This one doesn't get mentioned much, so I thought I would recommend it again. An interesting story, an amazing cast, a 'life is hard' story. Hilary doesn't do very many movies, but the ones she does are amazing.
