I watched it too. I always loved Damone's "5 Point Plan":

Mike Damone: All right, now pay attention. First of all Rat, you never let on how much you like a girl.
[standing next to a life size cut out of Deborah Harry in a Record Store]
Mike Damone: "Oh, Debbie. Hi."

Two, you always call the shots. "Kiss me. You won't regret it."

Now three, act like wherever you are, that's the place to be. "Isn't this great?"

Four, when ordering food, you find out what she wants, then order for the both of you. It's a classy move. "Now, the lady will have the linguini and white clam sauce, and a Coke with no ice."

And five, now this is the most important, Rat. When it comes down to making out, whenever possible, put on side one of Led Zeppelin IV.

Ray was great with Bill Bixby in My Favorite Martian. I really liked that show.

Love this scene: (Kathleen Turner and William Hurt)

KT: You're not too smart, are you ?
WH: Ha-ha
KT: I like that in a man.

There's a LOT of clever banter in that movie....a LOT!

Ted Danson's character especially was fantastic. He had clever lines all throughout the movie.

Remember when they were all in the conference room and everyone lit up.....then Danson was offered a cig and he said "No I don't need my own...I'll just breathe the air"...lol.

That segment starts at the 2:10 mark here:

Yeah and they show ALL the nudity too on TCM....

She looked good in "Romancing the Stone" as well.

My nickname for years for her was Kathleen "Body Heat" Turner.

Later on though that nickname didn't seem to "fit" as much.

I hadn't watched it for a while so really enjoyed that movie last night.

The Mickey Rourke character was also a very nice touch. Whole thing was done really well.

Some of those older William Hurt movies.....Eyewitness.....Altered States....The Big Chill.....classics!

William Hurt is a great actor. I would add Children of a Lessor God and Broadcast News to your list.

I have him in some sort of category with Kevin Kline, another great actor IMO.

Sadly, he passed away March of 2022 at 71 from prostate cancer.

I finally saw it last night for the first time. I see how it’s rated one of the best movies. Found it on Cinemax.

Too young. They say most men will die with prostate cancer, but it moves so slowly something else will get us. Not so with my dad. His metastasized into his inside organs and got him. But it was a blessing, really, as he was going downhill with Alzheimer's. In a way, a good cocktail. The Alzheimer's made him oblivious to the cancer, and the cancer took him out before he became a shell of himself.

I liked it too. I predict less than 1/3 of readers of this thread will feel the same way. It’s a real oddball. Reminiscent of the themes of an original Twilight Zone episode..

Watched Lighthouse, a poverty row "B movie" with Don Castle, June Lang and John Litel. Great acting by all three but Marion Martin as "Jo-Jo" steals the movie.

Highly recommended, two thumbs up!

Went to see Barbie on Saturday with a couple of late 50s lady friends.

Despite dire warnings it didn’t turn any of us into gay communists.

It's a movie that sticks with you for a few days after. A real-life nightmare.
