This is one of the movies I specifically remember seeing reviewed by Siskel and Ebert on "At the Movies" when it was first released.

45 years ago - and in some ways it seems like it was just last year.

That was a great show....especially if you were into movies. :)

Yes! I generally agreed with Ebert initially, then over the years, began to see things differently. We actually had an argument on Twitter before he died.

No one has replaced them, and that's regrettable.

Was the argument specific to this movie?

I have a Twitter account but have never posted anything....I'm a passive observer...lol.

Agree with your last comment. Their personalities were about as perfect as you could get for that format.

Perhaps of interest....a long time ago I did buy a paperback by Leonard Maltin that was pretty useful.

Argument stemmed from a movie review, but was a bigger philosophical issue that belongs in the bad place -- OTDR&P

I have the Maltin book, but it's probably from 30 years ago(!!!).

There is a Roger Ebert entity still reviewing movies but it's a consortium of a select number of contributors.

Funny, Baz, I watched that not 30 minutes ago.
