I saw 'Bone Tomahawk' a couple years back and really liked it..agree it's very realistic.
One of the reasons that I will never go into a cave.

One of my fav. actors......and an interesting comment from the peanut gallery.......

I worked as an extra, on the set of Interstellar, and during the set-up, when all the other actors had gone off to their trailers, and their stand-ins were sitting in place so the cinematographer could get the shots right, Lithgow stayed on the bleachers with us, in the blazing hot sun, holding a parasol for the two stand-in kids, and keeping them company the whole time! He could have gone off to his trailer, rehydrated, put on some sunscreen, and whatnot, and none of us would have judged him if he had. But he knew those kids were bored and uncomfortable, so he stuck around. Class act!

I really enjoyed In the Land of Saints and Sinners (2023) on Amazon Prime, starring Liam Neeson. Set in 1974 Ireland. Much better than Neeson's recent movies, IMO. I'd put the trailer here, but it gives away too much. This scene gives you a taste without spoiling everything. Kerry Condon is excellent in this.

I love to hear that as I’m a huge fan too. He is one of the truly underrated actors of our time. Incredible range.

Watched Witness with the family the other night (daughter hadn’t seen it) and in an early scene I was like ‘hey that sounds like James Earl Jones but the look isn’t right’.

Turns out it was his father! I had no idea his dad was an actor. He’s the janitor guy the cops first talk to at the train station.

Well worth a rewatch if you like this kind of humor. Hadn't seen in probably 15 years and it totally holds up. It's on YouTube Movies right now.

"So, that would be your accomplice in the wood chipper?"

'The Open House' on Netflix
The worst horror movie I've ever watched.

I had a hard time understanding what they were saying because of the Irish dialect.

I'm a huge fan of Liam and everything he does and agree it was pretty good, other than the thick dialect stuff. Just my 2 cents.

"Witness" is a VERY good movie.

Didn't know about JEJ's father - good catch - will have to look for it next time.

How about turning on the subtitles?

Thanks.....I'm sure that was an option - but just didn't do it.

Steve Carlton 02-10-2025 06:49 PM

I need to use it pretty often.

"'The Open House' on Netflix"

Steve, you be trying to give me the nightmares again??? HAHA!

stevej37 02-11-2025 07:09 AM

^^^ You won't have nightmares from 'Open House'....this movie is a joke.
I can't believe they have it listed as a horror movie.

A 'scary' part is when the mother is in the shower and the hot water runs out. She wraps a towel and heads into the basement to find the gas is turned off at the heater. She relights the pilot goes back up into the shower and it does this three times in a row and nothing happens. She blames her son.

That is the scariest part of the movie. :D

Scott Watkins 02-11-2025 08:36 AM

"That is the scariest part of the movie."
