"Saw it last night…was not impressed."
Was a bit too long. The grand babies enjoyed it. Enjoyed Cruise coming on before the movie began, after probably 30 minutes of commercials, and a personal thank you for coming. |

'Pig' on Netflix
Nicholas Cage has his truffle pig stolen. A good movie...but different. <iframe width="560" height="315" src="https://www.youtube.com/embed/gH6vhlNTLUk?si=karIKdpw60dzwiNv" title="YouTube video player" frameborder="0" allow="accelerometer; autoplay; clipboard-write; encrypted-media; gyroscope; picture-in-picture; web-share" referrerpolicy="strict-origin-when-cross-origin" allowfullscreen></iframe> |
I just watched this on Netflix. Considering the cast (Julia Roberts, Ethan Hawke, Mahershala Ali)...
Awful movie. :( <iframe width="560" height="315" src="https://www.youtube.com/embed/cMVBi_e8o-Y?si=H2vvkFjzS5i-y_cw" title="YouTube video player" frameborder="0" allow="accelerometer; autoplay; clipboard-write; encrypted-media; gyroscope; picture-in-picture; web-share" referrerpolicy="strict-origin-when-cross-origin" allowfullscreen></iframe> |

'The Tylenol Murders' on Netflix.
I clearly remember watching the news on this almost every night when it happened. I thought it was all solved and finished. The documentary tells a lot...but still so many questions. <iframe width="560" height="315" src="https://www.youtube.com/embed/2W7r1O1ch74?si=nwS1YziehnY6QDwn" title="YouTube video player" frameborder="0" allow="accelerometer; autoplay; clipboard-write; encrypted-media; gyroscope; picture-in-picture; web-share" referrerpolicy="strict-origin-when-cross-origin" allowfullscreen></iframe> |

^ looking forward to this in November. Good cast, good director, great story!
Just noticed The Bride comes out March 6, 2026... I don't think there's a legitimate trailer out yet. https://variety.com/2025/film/news/the-bride-trailer-cinemacon-christian-bale-1236352046/ |
The Accountant 2 is on Amazon now. Hard to be nearly as good as the original, but still plenty of room to be very entertaining. A little comedy in this one, and Jon Bernthal really shines here. If you watch the trailer, it will spoil the surprises.

'Barbarian' on Netflix
Might be the strangest horror movie I've ever seen. <iframe width="560" height="315" src="https://www.youtube.com/embed/Dr89pmKrqkI?si=GCCcNZfEOj5aSIwV" title="YouTube video player" frameborder="0" allow="accelerometer; autoplay; clipboard-write; encrypted-media; gyroscope; picture-in-picture; web-share" referrerpolicy="strict-origin-when-cross-origin" allowfullscreen></iframe> |
The Accountant II was disappointing. Hard to follow. Primary plot made no sense... I see why it was free already on Amazon Prime. Bar scene could have been much better.

Watched a strange one the other night. On YouTube movies.
Burt Lancaster in “The Swimmer” Not bad, and I like movies of that period. |
I watched The Promised Land (2023) last night because I'm a big fan of Mads Mikkelsen and it has a 97/95% rating on Rotten Tomatoes. It's an excellent movie (in Danish with subtitles), about 1750s settlement in an extremely difficult part of Denmark called the heath. Unbelievably difficult situation with an evil nearby landowner/magistrate. I'm not sure I've seen such harsh, unforgiving circumstances teamed up with unspeakable cruelty and racism. The movie's not easy to watch, but Mads makes it worthwhile and there are some good moments there. A very good feel bad movie. Free on hulu and kanopy, $3.99 on Apple and Amazon.
