"The Bridge on the River Kwai" - on TMC right now - about 1.5 hours in. Major Shears just found out he's going back to the POW camp. "Good show.....jolly good show...!"
|
"The Road Warrior" on El Rey right now....a classic!
|
Ex Machina.
On Brainstorm level for the 2010s. A clever movie about AI and morality woven among other subjects. Gets better the second and third viewing. |

My daughter bought me this on Bluray... I was 19 when this movie was released!
Great movie and it bought back some good memories. <iframe width="560" height="315" src="https://www.youtube.com/embed/lEOvn2IaLMM" frameborder="0" allow="autoplay; encrypted-media" allowfullscreen></iframe> |
Just saw " game night" with Justin Bateman. I have not laughed harder in a very long time as I did about every minute of this movie. It is FUNNY.

She should buy you "To Live and Die in LA" as well....unless you already own it. Another Dafoe masterpiece! <iframe width="854" height="480" src="https://www.youtube.com/embed/zGBe8mltpkA" frameborder="0" allow="autoplay; encrypted-media" allowfullscreen></iframe> |

My last choice was Red Sparrow and I did not like that, very disappointing.... |

What happened to Monday , an odd sort of scifi movie. Septuplets born in a time when a family was only allowed to have one child. Just average entertainment. Better than most of whats on TV but not great. Lots of action and violence. I liked it.

Saw this yesterday. Typical spy movie. I'd give it a 5, but the nude Jennifer Lawrence scene bumps it way up to a 9 :)

Magnificent 7 (old AND new versions) Gringo Small Town Crime The Accountant Citizen Soldiers Life Alien Invasion S.U.M.1 (really weird!!!!) Hyena Road The Wall (2017 movie, not Pink Floyd) |
My Friend Dahmer, it was awkward and slow. 3/10

With a friend like that, who needs vegetables?

Coming up on TMC....two Don Siegel classics......"Madigan" ('68) and "Charley Varrick" ('73)

Watching "The Martian" right now on FX.
This is a great movie - I may have to get the DVD - you know - in case I ever get stranded on a deserted island.... :) |
I thought A Quiet Place was good...

A quiet Place was very good indeed... Sure there will be plot holes given the premise, but overall it's an original idea, well acted, and it's different from other movies....
Try not to watch it as I did with a mouthbreather next to you eating pop corn and cheetos, considering the movie is largely silent, it's distracting ! Ready Player one was good too... Not quite as good as the book but if you played early video games in the 80s it's very relatable and nicely executed. Younger folks might just think it's "pretty", older geezers will catch a lot of references... |
Solo looks great! (I really hope it actually is)

Watched this on Prime last night. I brushed past it many times based on the sappy description, but really enjoyed the movie. Btw, I'm not a religious person.
