Drowning Pool, The
(1975)
10:00 PM (ET)
Ode to Billy Joe

Watched The Drowning Pool and really liked it. Paul Newman played the part perfectly. Found out later that this is the second movie with this character, the first being Harper (1966). Looked for Harper on Amazon prime and Netflix and it wasn't available. Looks like I will have to purchase the DVD for my collection. :)

TCM recently aired "The Lion in Winter" with Peter O'Toole, Kate Hepburn, Timothy Dalton, and Anthony Hopkins--definitely recommended.

I also caught "All is Lost" with Robert Redford--very good film.

Unfortunately, also recently watched "Passengers"---good premise, terrible film.

Yeah I remember when "Passengers" came out.....another boring and depressing flick for those who like that kind of thing.

Hadn't heard of "All is Lost' but will look for it - thanks, Eric!

Yes Aragorn......"Harper" is a great one and worth pursuing for your collection...not only because of the detective character Newman plays, which is extremely well done, but also because he drives one of these in the movie:

Wow... I always thought this scene was legit.

How Charlie Chaplin accomplished the roller skating stunt in "Modern Times" - Album on Imgur

But truthfully, I'm not disappointed... I think this is just as amazing. I've been aware of matte painting for a long time... just never knew it was used in this scene.

One positive during the power outage is I got to watch some DVD's I hadn't seen since I bought them. I have a generator so did have limited power enough to run fridge, AC, a fan, and a few small electronic devices including my TV and a portable DVD player.

The first movie I watched was........(and it was VERY good!).....

I watched this the other day. It was very good, entertaining and fun. It's a less serious, funny comic book version of something like James Bond.

Documentary about Kurt Cobains death and the suspicious circumstances all pointing to psycho blondie wife.
Soaked in Bleach (2015) - IMDb

He was going to divorce her but then suddenly overdoses in Rome. Not an attempt according to everyone around. She is nothing but self absorbed and sketchy at best. Suicide note looks faked and all the suicide references originate from her. Hmm. In fact everything looked positive except for her and another divorce and rewriting of his will(tens of millions worth) was in the works. Physical evidence shows existing levels of heroin are fatal and he'd be passed or dead at time of shooting. Very damning slips of tongue recorded by the PI. Police and media competency level equals zero ought to all have been fired.

About this Video

Fifty years after her 1962 death, two boxes of Marilyn Monroe's writings - diaries, poems and letters - were discovered in the home of Lee Strasberg, her acting coach. The film features dramatic readings of Monroe's words by actors, film critics, journalists and authors, and archival footage of Hollywood insiders who knew or worked with the American star.
I have a roof top TV antenna and was able to enjoy this program out of Canada.

I think it was well done, certainly different.

I'm pretty sure you need to be in Canada to watch it online, maybe it's on some cable stations and will have a rebroadcast date.

Saw it yesterday with my wife at an IMAX. It was a lot of fun. The villian was unexpected, but very capable.

Bill was a very underrated actor IMO. He was also good in Aliens. RIP

I liked "Predator 2". I must watch it again some time soon.
