What's your favourite fruit?

Rock Melon for me although I also enjoy stone fruits.
Watermelon when it's hot but the water melon must be at room temperature.

Dried fruit? Dates and the Best come from Iran. Egyptian are OK but often too sweet.

Apples and oranges are a bit meh IMO. I don't like mangoes or any fruit with a furry skin.

So what are your favourites?

The reason I ask is because I'm always looking for new food experiences.

Kind of partial to avocados. I grew this monster Fuerte last year. Just over 22oz.

For a new food experience try sour dough toast with green butter. One avocado, 2 table spoons of chopped Ortega chilies and salt and pepper to taste. Of something different add a teaspoon of soy sauce.

I like most kinds of fruit. My favorite the Paw Paw which I haven't had since the mid '70s. I used to have them as a little kid in Illinois. They grew wild and matured after the first frost. The big drawback was they quickly went from maturity to over ripe in a very short time. The flavor was sort of banana like but different with a consistency sort of like pudding. The closest flavor I can associate with it is the Cherimoya. For a while Cherimoyas could be bought around here, but not so much anymore.

Saphoche, aka sapote, chiku. furry skin so you probably wouldn't like it. But it almost tastes like caramel.

Sour sop. Extremely sweet.

I like all types of fruits. Favorites are Water melon, Pineapple, and Mango. I can't stand Coconuts and Papaya. Is papaya a fruit or vegetable?

They come in White and Pink. Whites are bigger. This is a pink. Pinks are juicier and tastier. Yum.

There is a honeydew/ cantaloupe hybrid melon that is delicious. Depending on the variety, you can get more of either melon in the fruit.

They are delicious!!

I also love the original Chinese apple pears. Not the newfangled stuff, but the real thing.

Colombian blackberries. Moras castellanas, or in Colombia, just moras. Fan-freaking-tastic fruit.

After that: raspberries, regular blackberries, blueberries, strawberries, cherries.

My earliest memory in my entire life, is sitting in the backyard next to a raspberry bush, just plucking those suckers and plunking them into my mouth. Must have been like 18 mos at the time.

Henry, When Beth and I lived in Fallbrook (221 East Elder), we ate Haas avocados every day! Wow, I miss that!!

I have the pink ones growing in my yard along with these mangoes. I rarely eat fruit from my yard as I just give them away. Lots of hard work picking them by hand, but my friends enjoy them.
