I follow a Lymphoma Suvivor's club on Facebook and it is really inspiring to see pictures and stories of many, many people there who have beaten the disease. https://www.facebook.com/lymphomaclub |
This is exactly why I posted here. I knew you guys would help me feel a little better, and offer some inspiration. Thank you for all the kind words, and offers. You guys really are a great bunch, and welcome at my home , or shop any time if you are ever in the area.
Aggie, I just may take you up on a lunch date, or beer one of these days after all the dust settles. thanks again all, I will keep you updated as time goes on. |
I'm new to posting but a long time lurker.
I read your post last night and then went to bed, eyes fixed on my dark ceiling. I'm not a religious man but I hope for the best of outcomes for your baby girI, also hope that you and your loved ones find the strength to get through her treatments. Best of luck and thank you for reminding me of how insignificant 99% of our problems are. |
Fred - You and your family are strong and can make it through this. Please know everyone is on your side and will help in any way possible. For now, I have said a prayer but let us know if there is anything else we can do.
|
FFR - you have a ton of energy and are an optimist. If anyone can deal with crisis, it is probably you. I know this from your posts, even though they mostly are auto-related. The odds are good that you will make it through fine, especially compared to a lot of other ugly diseases out there. If I were you, I'd focus on the half full glass.
You already mention your older kid. Yes, it will be important that he doesn't end up neglected. But the fact that you already think about him shows me that this will not be an issue. Same with your marriage - a crisis can push a relationship either way. Make sure it is something that brings you closer together. It is a lot easier to fight as a team. Hang in there and keep us posted! Sincerely, George |
Fred,
I said a prayer for your daughter and will continue to do so. You and your family are in my thoughts and prayers also. Keep us posted and if you need anything, the Pelican group is pretty resourceful. Matt |
Good thoughts headed your way, Fred. Stay strong.
|
I read this last night and it gave me pause. I'm sure you will find a good team that will help your little girl. She sure is a cutie. I gave my two princesses extra kisses before bed.

Fred: my wife and I just said a prayer for her. She's beautiful and we know she'll be ok.
|
Wow Fred, so sorry to hear this. You and the family are in our thoughts.

This is from my lady who is a M.D. at a local teaching hospital.
"Hi there. We can't imagine what you are going through. I'm an internist here in Boston….while I don't treat children I definitely saw plenty in my training and every day I help guide patients and families through diagnosis and treatment of all types of cancer. All I can do is tell you to take each day as it comes…each one is a gift. The battle with cancer, any cancer, is a long one. There will be good days and there will be bad days. NEVER GIVE UP HOPE. Miracles happen every day. You are indeed at a wonderful hospital. Work with your care team--always ask for help and support when you need it. We wish you the best and will keep your daughter in our prayers. She is adorable!!" Your family is in our thoughts. F and K |
Stay strong Fred ... my thoughts are with you and your family.

Survivors.............
For some reason, kids seem to recover from Lukemia better than adults. I know three families that have had a child go thru this and, in the end be declared to be cancer free. Not a fun road to travel, but the odds are in her favor! Good luck!
|
What an incredibly cute baby, Fred .. our prayers are with you and your family in such a hard time.
|
I can't imagine...
Our family sends thoughts and prayers to yours. Stay strong. |
So sorry to hear this, will keep you all in my thoughts. Any idea about the chromosomal analysis?
|
Fred such a brave post. Clearly you have inner strength and will lead your family through this.
|
I couldn't even begin to imagine what you must be feeling right now. Stay strong for her Fred, thoughts and prayers sent.
