PARFy or not, Fox News is Faux Outrage 24/7. It's the mission of the channel. But it's started to wear out on the younger end of the demo and Fox is losing viewers.
To the original post, I believe that there is a bit of an addiction to anger and outrage. I started noticing it many years ago on talk (yell) radio when the local hosts would gin up some controversy by presenting part of a news story. And after the audience was all riled up, they'd slowly introduce the rest of the facts -- usually defusing the original stance. Funny thing was, the subsequent callers readily ignored the mitigating part of the story and were still mad as hell over the original misrepresentation. Amazingly, this particular show did the same thing every day. That proved to me that some people just have a 'free-floating' anger they are eager to vent.
