I used to watch the Olympics. I remember Klammer's '76 gold medal run. Seemed like a long time everyone was running for second place behind that guy, for years.
I sort of lost interest in the Olympics, about the time of all the boycotting crap I guess.

I watch the Alpine skiing, I'm an Alpine ski racer and so are my girls. To see the event as it should be presented, i go to the NBC website and watch the live feeds at midnight.
The NBCOlympics version we are gettign blessed with in primetime is a huge dissapointment. Reminds me of how Hannah-Barbara Enterprises produced its version in the late 70's..

agree 1000% about the Bode Miller interview, totally classless and tasteless.
The commercials are KILLING me - the baby sitter that ups her price just because the car is nice is such a statement on that whole generation, entitlement, its about ME, take from the rich, ugh. How many commercials can we cram between events? I think it is running about 50% commercials and 50% events....that alone must drive zillions off the network. Don't get it.... skiing has been pretty exciting however - even tho the conditions have sucked! we'll keep watching.... td |

Epic fail - NBC televised Olympic coverage Sunday primetime. An embarrassment to the people of the US. NBC makes a big production of Kerrigan / Harding just before the closing ceremony. Whoever approved that crap should be axed.
On a classier note - nicely done Russia.

now that they're over, I'll miss them. Even though I didn't watch alot, there was always the possibility there would be something interesting to watch.
Now that they're over, no need to turn on the TV at all.

I don't want to see anymore figure skating for at least four year and if I never see Johnny Weir again that would be fantastic!

As long as you are not from a country that rhymes with Shmunited Shmates of Ashmerica. Or stopped watching after round robin play.
Egads.

To be honest, I don't remember much about what happened between Kerrigan / Harding. I enjoyed the look back at what transpired.
That said, I was only 12 at the time, so I don't remember much from 1994 (OJ trial aside). Heck, I didn't even know that it was only then that the Winter Olympics switched to an alternate schedule from the Summer games! Anyway, I really do wish that NBC showed more sports instead of fluff pieces. OTOH, I did enjoy what I did see. From curling to figure skating to hockey, downhill, skeleton and so on. |

Ski Jumping Cars of different nations would of provided more excitement, the luge was the only thing that really caught my eye.
