Sorry to hear about your kitty. I have one 16 year old cat as well. So far he is still doing well except for being def as a post.

People will say, "I know how you feel". But do they really?
I too had to put down my cat of 19 years from kidney failure. And it felt to me like when I lost my mother years earlier. That was 16 years ago and the two cats I have now are showing signs of the same kidney problems. I fear some day soon I will have to let them go and grieve all over again. I am truly sorry for your loss. So think of Toruk often and grieve for him. He will be waiting for you when your time comes. If you or your wife need support, go here: Rainbow Bridge, Pet Loss Grief Support, Monday Candle Ceremony ... and don't wait too long to get another cat. Sorry for your loss. Three of our pets are 8-10 yrs old so we don't have too much time remaining before that dreadful day arrives and we have to say goodbye .

You did the right thing.
We have 3 trees in the yard with cat ashes underneath them. 2 Persian types.1 rag doll. 1 dog tree. It is a dogwood. My condolences. |

I too am dreading the day....
Our duane is 15+..... He had lost some weight, is in the feline "settling down" phase, a little senile. .... But we can tell he's slowing down..... No suffering yet...... We're hoping our move next weekend doesn't do him in as he absolutely hates moving. ... R.i.p. turok |

Sorry to hear. I dread these threads. The loss of Charlie and Bonnie still hurts five years later. I have my three "4-legged children" with me and I hope they're all here for many more years. All the best. Keep them alive in your heart.
