Now for something different.

Are they really playing the music or is that just acting?

I'd venture it's like the Super Bowl HT show with the RHCPs...

'cept it's the Right Handed Cello Players "acting" on this version

I have no idea if those are actually cellos or not...

That's just acting, but I can't think of any reason why it couldn't be played....that's just like every other music video.....a bunch of flash, then they lay the sound booth track over it.

It would be harder to pretend you're doing it and actually look like you are, than to actually do it. When you see an actor in a movie pretend they are playing guitar, it's very obvious.

They actually played it, months before they made the video. Like most videos.

These guys played with Elton John as part of his 'Million Dollar Piano' tour. Saw them at Caesar's in LV; they were amazing.

Exactly, the camera angles tell you it's all shot at different times.

Professional musicians are like magicians to me. The only thing I can play is my MP3 player.

I used to photograph weddings for a living. At one very expensive wedding reception held at a fancy country club they had a string quartet. They were playing the standard stuff. As the party was going they kept asking the audience for requests. They took a short break and I decided I needed a break as well. The musicians were all wishing the people would throw out some requests. As a goof I said how about Sweet Home Alabama or Freebird! When they got back to work they played both songs. The people at the wedding all loved Sweet Home Alabama and that really got the party going.

Pretty cool video. Rocking out with dual cellos is an interesting shtick & the lads have talent. Watch some of their live vids.

These Piano Guys videos are interesting. Doing big tours these days - all propelled by YouTube.

This one puts together the original post and the wedding story:

I know why, it's because it's garbage. "oh, hey, I know what'll be cool, let's assemble a room full of stuffy looking people and rock their world by playing acdc on our cellos". Yeah, welcome to 1980. Good lord. Talent, but no taste.
