There is nicotine in those things, most of them anyway.

Some people are inconsiderate, on both sides of this particular subject. Around here it is usually the non-smokers that are sort of a pain, and I don't smoke.

we started seeing stagehands using these openly during work calls and I being a nonsmoker don’t like it. I find it distracting and I know that there are other things you can put in those things; oils distilled from Pot can be used the same way in those things. Then you have workers getting high at work and looking you in the eye doing it-

Been using one for over 2 years now.

Smoked a pack of Marlboro Reds a day for way longer than I care to think about.

Had gotten to the point that with each one I smoked I could feel it killing me.

Over the years I had tried everything, cold turkey, patch, gum, even Chantix all with mixed results, the Chantix being the worst. Made me roid rage angry 24/7.

My brother, 2 years older and also a smoker got me my 1st starter kit.

Made the full switch from analog to digital in 3 days and have not touched a cigarette since.

I'm addicted to Nicotine but what I have come to realize it's more than just the addictive properties.

There is a lot f research recently using Nicotine therapy for things like adult ADD and slowing the progression of age related loss of cognitive abilities.

When I started the eciggs they contained a nicotine level close to what I was getting from cigarettes. My plan was to step down the dosage over time and about 3 months ago I had been at the lowest level you could buy. But I was having trouble functioning so I stepped back up one level and my ability to focus improved.

My theory is that those of us who have difficulty quitting smoking are not just experiencing nicotine withdrawal. There is a benefit to us in using nicotine and we've pretty much been self medicating without knowing it. We quit and get past the first week but we are not ourselves and the only thing we know to do is get back on the smokes.

Am I happy about it? No. But right now it's a balance that works for me.

Yeah, I have always thought there was more to it than simple addiction.

Really depends on the flavor they are using.

I started with the tobacco flavors but moved onto sweeter fruiter flavors.

I buy 2 bottles every 3 weeks. $15 a bottle. Costs the same as a weeks worth of smokes. Always 2 different flavors as you can switch off to avoid getting what we call dead tongue. If you stick to the same flavor all the time you stop tasting it.

Right now I have a sour strawberry and a pomegranate.

I've never heard a complaint. In fact people comment they like the smell.

I've already seen cases of people vaping where they shouldn't; somehow they must think they're not smoking. Just this past week there was a guy in the local supermarket vaping away. I was at the San Diego airport last December and there was a table full of guys doing it.

Am I the only one who thinks those things look like a kazoo?

They were never allowed but they were not banned either.

The rule most people are defaulting to in absence of any legislation is to ban it where smoking is banned.

But if they want to ban it because of the poly glycol emissions they've got a problem because the carrier liquid poly glycol is the same as what is used in breathing aid devices like asthmatic inhalers and a crapload of air treatment systems.

"Propylene glycol and dipropylene glycol were first registered in 1950 and 1959, respectively, by the FDA for use in hospitals as air disinfectants."
"Indoor Non-Food: Propylene glycol is used on the following use sites: air treatment (eating establishments, hospital, commercial, institutional, household, bathroom, transportational facilities); medical premises and equipment, commercial, institutional and industrial premises and equipment; laundry equipment; hard non-porous surface treatments (bathroom facilities); automobiles; air conditioning filters; pet treatment, including cats, dogs, and caged birds; environmental inanimate hard surfaces; garbage containers/storage."

I've vaped on flights plenty. No one has ever complained. Just don't go blowing copious amounts of vapor. If you hold it long enough nothing comes out. I've vapped sitting right next to people and they have not even noticed. It also does not set off the detectors in the lavatories.

They actually sell them onboard for in flight use on RyanAir over in the UK.

Bingo. I've just recently self-diagnosed with adult ADD, and among the things I've done to balance myself out (diet, exercise, sleep routine) I have also started to look at nicotine differently. Instead of a vice that I have to eliminate, I see it as something that I've used to self medicate for years, and that it might actually have a useful place in my daily routine as something other than a "crutch"

I like the gum, because it is innocuous and pretty much invisible.

The whole add/nicotine link is a very interesting subject... it was certainly one of those " ah ha " moments for me, and I've been reading about it a lot.

How much are cigs in TX? They are about $10 a pack in Hawaii.

Last time I bought a pack $6.50.

You think $10 is bad?

Try NYC, think they are close to $15.

My knowledge on this is second hand, (no pun intended) but a colleague of mine is quitting smoking for health reasons and went to a "vape" meeting to learn more about them.
He called them a bunch of freaks. A group of whacked out people with bongs showing off how much they can inhale in one shot. Blowing out huge clouds that they could make shapes with. More than one guy was wearing a superhero shirt.
Yes it sounds like people are using them to quit smoking, but I guess people will abuse anything they can.

It's become a bit of a hipster thang.

E-stores commonly have lounges and scheduled social events.

Not unlike a cigar bar.

Just different clientele.

I go, buy my stuff and split.

For a lot of people it's not about quitting but more about finding an alternate method of Nicotine delivery.

My wife and I were in the check-out line at a Penney's a few weeks ago in a local mall. All of a sudden we smell this strange smell and I look up and the 20-something standing five in front of us has pulled a v-cig out of his pocket and is puffing away. And he was standing with a women that seemed to be his mother. I wanted to pop him up side of the head and ask him where the hell he thought he was. And my wife was goin to pop them mother too. We couldn't believe it.
