I liked Carson a lot. He always had me laughing out loud even if i was too young to know who any of his guests were. I also liked Leno a lot. Letterman has always sucked. I got hooked on Craig Ferguson for a while there and I like Conan sometimes but have always like Fallon. His new show is just a continuation of his old show. I don't see any difference.

I'm 45.
I liked Letterman when I was a teenager, because that was Letterman's level of humour. I liked Carson much more as I grew up.

The only thing I liked about Leno was that he was a genuine car guy.

Fallon? Meh... I'd rather take a nap.
Conan? Not a chance. I'd rather watch an hour long EAS broadcast with the volume full up.

Part of what made Carson great was his great guests and his nack for picking new stars. How many people did Carson set on their showbiz career paths?

What's Fallon going to do? Continue to interview de rigueur mediocrity like Chris Pratt?

Still like Letterman, most of the time.

I probably won't end up ever watching Fallon just because I have to get up at 5:00 in the morning. back when I was young and stayed up to all hours of the night, it was hard to beat Jonny Carson and his hilarious skits.

Don't really watch TV but saw a couple of Fallon episodes because of the Olympics, I had the TV habit going there for a couple weeks. He's OK, none of them compare to Carson in any way. He was a genius with that format. There is nothing better than someone really bright from the midwest, IMO.

I'm in my 50s.

I'm 41 and I am loving Jimmy Fallon on the Tonight Show. I never really watched much of Carson, I was still pretty young when he was on. I have possibly watched two or three Leno shows, I never really thought he was all that interesting or funny.

Fallon seems like a breath of fresh air, he is genuinely excited to be there and has fun with his guests. The games and bits he gets them to buy into are hilarious. The Lip Flip he did with Tina Fey was hysterical.

I've started recording it on my DVR and watching some of the bits and interviews.

Jimmy Fallon, meh

As Denis says above Mr Carson was the best ever for a show with that format, far and away the best for a number of reasons. Mr Leno was okay. Mr Letterman is mean spirited and not terribly funny.

What little I've seen of Fallon, I like him. They could have done a lot worse, and have.

Yeah, Leno!

I really like Conan, but he is weird and probably not everybody's cup of tea. Fallon seems more universal and I like him, but Conan makes me laugh more/harder. And I think Kimmel has some of the funniest bits.

Late-night TV is one of the best excuses I can think of to go to bed early. No interest at all. Very played-out formula. Not to mention I could care less about so-called "celebrities" and what they do, which seems to be most of the guests / interviews. Different strokes but personally I don't care.

Met Jay Leno a couple of times in SoCal - nice enough guy and some cool cars to boot.

Jeezer, the crazy links that pop up... TMZ on Johnny Carson's 'mono log'. I guess he gets the last laugh. Sort of like Milton Berle.

Sex tape sale
Johnny Carson Sex Tape Hits the Market -- Check Out This Mono-Log | TMZ.com

Call him a c*** show host ... TMZ has learned, Johnny Carson recorded a sex tape with his wife back in the 1970s -- and not only has the tape just hit the market ... very solid sources tell TMZ, Johnny's johnny is ENORMOUS.

Multiple sources tell us, the tape owner approached the Carson estate in September to make a deal for the footage -- the estate said take a hike, and threatened to sue the owner if he ever sold it.

But the owner's apparently gone rogue -- we're told he's now shopping it to private collectors ... and it is legendary.

According to sources who've seen it, the tape appears to be one of his wives -- it's unclear which one. The tape opens with a naked dark-haired Carson masturbating by a pool -- then shows the woman (with a bouffant hairdo) going all Linda Lovelace.

It goes on for about 5 minutes -- then we're told it cuts to a 20-minute sex scene in Johnny's bedroom ... and Johnny does NOT hold back.

Oh yeah, we're also told he's hung like a horse -- seriously, porn star status. One source said it was at least 10 inches. But for legal reasons it can't go to a porn company, so the only way to unload it is with a private collector.
