Knife enthusiasts: What do you think of these knives?

Al Mar and benchmade knives testing a new material called Kirinite. What do you think?

I use my knife to gut animals, not open letters. How does the material feel when its covered in gore? If it gets slick, thats a non starter. My Buck 110 serves me just fine with its wood grips.

When I look at a knife, I used to always think, "man, if only it came in phlegm green.."

Thank you sir. My dreams have been realized.

Seem kind of bland. Can you add Bluetooth and LEDs'?

Edit: I think it goes w/o saying, Bluetooth 4.0 and Flashing LED's ...but just in case.

Kirinite's been around for a while in the low-end custom knife scene and has finally trickled into production knives.

IMHO it's fugly and needs to die. It's like the plastic version of pakkawood...but more offensive to the eyes.

I have felt this material and it's not as slippery as you would think. Quite stunning too, in my opinion. I think pictures don't do it justice.

Who here has actual experience with it?

We don't need experience to criticize stuff here....just a picture will do.

Seriously, as a knife maker, maybe the younger crowd might be interested in purchasing, there is always someone for some product, but to me, it looks too busy almost like the decorated taxi's overseas or the small fiberglass car rides at the carnival. It could make a great design look cheap as hell as it has done in the picture you provided. No disrespect intended, just my honest opinion that you asked for. Too many comma's?

Seeing that it appears you might work for a company that has something to do with the manufacture (or sale) of this product ("grips" that's bike grips or golf club grips?) Why not send each of us one of these "new material" knifes to test in real field conditions. I promise if you do I will keep if my jeans and test it. Then I can tell you what it feels like using it inside a steaming small furry animal that happened to stick it's tounge out at me just before I put 150g of copper covered lead thru it's skull at 2800 ft per sec. and we will see how it cleans up afterwards.

like he said..
this 'kirinite' makes them look cheap...
reminds me of those knives on that knife show..
80 pieces for 29.99..
and if you order now..
you get the almost steel Katana with a purple kirinite scabbard..
