Wow! That's some damage. I guess better than through the block. Of course I'm thinking the block isn't unscathed.

I remember one time, after rebuilding a manual transmission, putting it back in the car, then going over to my bench to put tools away and clean up. Looking up in horror and seeing a synchro ring hanging on the pegboard. I was slightly upset.

Vinny, I did that once with a DB4 engine, getting ready to try starting it and kicked an oil chain tensioner piston across the garage floor. Eff Me! At least I hadn't tried to start it yet.
