I'm self employed and just enjoy seeing what others are up to concerning their P-cars. I check this site once or twice a day the same as I do other Media sites that I enjoy.

I was sent here from a parallel universe to monitor the human race... checking in on PPOT is part of my assignment.

Posts in almost 14 years....1155. Guess I don't post a ton but I read all the time. If I'm not with a patient then I am at my desk working on their charts, which are electronic. Pelican and the other forums I frequent help break up my day and keep me sane!

Like Widgeon I am retired. I can do what I want, how I want and when I want.
However my wife gets on my case when I spend too much time on the laptop. You all
keep me sane. People that know me would dispute that haha.....G

Yea, I get the "honey do" look if I spend too much time here as well but that can be addressed. My wife doesn't really know what goes on here but if she did I'd probably get the "WTF is wrong with you"? question. She would never understand, it's sort of like having a mistress.

We all make time for what we think is "important".

Someone right now is getting on a plane to go to a stamp-collectors convention in Brussels...to him or her, that's important.

Perfectly stated.

I enjoy the give and take here, it is the only site I actively participate in.

Less than three posts a day means I'm addicted, but under digital methadone treatment

Completely addictive personality is the only explanation I can give. I actually have a fairly busy life most of the time but I'm on a computer a lot and click between various news sites, my email and this BBS. FB has become just as much of a time-suck in the last 5-6 years, just reading the stupid news feed and clicking on photos and links.

I leave my laptop at home in the am when I leave my pad and I don't get home until evening but the iphone in my pocket is a miniature computer and I surf the same sites when I'm alone eating or waiting in line somewhere, etc...

I'll admit that it's pretty ridiculous how much time I've spent here and it's something that I frequently scratch my head over, figuratively speaking. Now I'm addicted to the Marketplace discussion forum as well...jeezis.

I'm also retired and haven't posted much in the last 13 years here. I usually take a look here for a short while in the AM before I start working on my projects. I'm usually on here (& a couple of other places) for maybe an hour in the evenings. I also don't feel like I have to make small comments on every thread to watch my post count build and only usually comment if I feel I may have something to contribute. I enjoy the forum very much as a place to learn various things and experience some wit & humor. There are also subjects and posters I avoid, having learned the destructive and unfriendly patterns associated with them. I attribute the fact that some people are here to some being productive enough to justify doing it and/or knowing some people are just more social beings than I am. Besides, my wife accuses me of spending my time looking at boobies when I'm on here - which is only partly true.

What? You're not on the Pelican Rewards Program? The more you post, the more rewards points you get towards purchases on the retail side of this site.

That's a great idea and I've thought this in the past. Pelican would be nowhere if it were not for this forum. Wayne hit the market at just the right time and found a HUGE niche with this forum which made his business hugely successful. Of course he backed it all up with a great website, great inventory and great customer service, and a S*$#load of hard work I'm sure.
