Sorry in advance, can't help it, too funny:

'Just grow a pair': Amazing moment mayor sparks outrage by suggesting young victims of bullying should toughen up

•Cameron Hamilton, mayor of Porterville, California, was discussing proposal of Safe Zones around town where victims could seek refuge

•Councilwoman Virginia Gurrola replied at council meeting: 'It's hard to just "grow a pair" when you're a 10-year-old girl'

•Gay rights advocates also angered by mayor's comments

I would like it if people who post tried to imagine the person to whom they were responding were right there in front of them.

I suspect is any of us were in the back yard with 126 and he made the comment, "I love to watch my wife work in the garden." we would smile and nod and agree that life was fine.

What is wrong with treating fellow Pelicans the way you would treat them if you met them at Wayne's home? In reality this is what is happening here.

Best
Les

My attitude toward not partaking in some threads when some jump in with their usual negativity has always been not to post and just to skip looking entirely. I really don't post much and never have ridiculed or attacked other posters. I have also experienced a couple of negative responses and never answer to the frustration of those posting the negatives. This is only an internet bulletin board, and none of those acting like little *********s count as far as I'm concerned. On threads that turn bad, I don't post and have a long term policy of not opening threads posted by the little *********s.

I have only met a few Pelican's, but many F-chatters. It does make a diff once you've met many on a board.

Its very easy because of my poor writing skills, or my poor reading skills, to take something the wrong way, or have it taken the wrong way. In person, this tends to not happen.

Tobra 05-19-2014 12:24 PM

Les, that is the most excellent Hugh R policy of posting on the internet.

I must not look at the right threads, as I have not seen as much of the mean spirited stuff as you guys are seeing.

You always read something with your OWN emotional content applied. Never the other person's.

That's one of the big problems about the "texting' society. And internet forums.

This issue is simply a matter of sociology.

Those who post negatively are those who suffer from self-esteem issues and have to "boost" themselves up by cutting others down.

Maybe next time someone posts something negative we can post a response such as:

Your negative post is indicative of a self-esteem issue. We won't hold it against you. But in the interest of maintaining a positive vibe we ask that you think about getting therapy and/or be a little more confident in yourself so we don't have to read your whining.

Respectfully,
Your friends at PPOT

If somebody is trying to get my goat I just don't respond. I don't antagonize or up the ante. I stay off Parf. I keep it simple. G

slakjaw 05-19-2014 01:32 PM

Too many cool people left and PARF should be deleted. There are forums out there in internet land for politics. This should not be one of them.

Pelican to me is like a family and like most families there are some that are dysfunctional. Once you figure out who is in that segment you just ignore the best you can. Life is too short for the petty bickering.

I had an interlude, of recent variety.....all I did was place my hands in a strategic place whilst my partner did all the work.....I got an "attaboy". Rolled it over for an encore.......

From now on I'll just lay there and be strategic.......when I gets an oooh, oooh and an attaboy in the same occasion, I just STFU......

Only took 45 years to figure it out.

rumlyne 05-19-2014 03:46 PM

Take note of my post count! I've been using and enjoying this site almost from
it's start, only the mods know for sure. I put a 3.6 V-ram in an SC because
of this place. I've bought everything for the car that wasn't used here.
PLEASE DO NOT KILL PARF It's better than the comedy chan. I rarely miss
a day, the place is sort of a daytime soap for Porsche guys.
Oh I also don't care what anybody says, I'm not interested in having a
beer with any of those Douche Nozzles. (good one Joe Bob)

Joe Bob 05-19-2014 03:56 PM

Thanks, she's gonna dress up trashy and hit a sleezoid bar near DisneyHell.....I'll go in a rescue/pick her up.......Mondays are slow at the biker bar..

sc_rufctr 05-19-2014 04:19 PM

The "knockers-in-the-garden" thread was always going to go South.
However the open insults about the lady in that thread are unacceptable. We're all better than that or should be.

What happened in that thread is just "normal" but this place is generally not bad compared to some of the other forums I visit.

If you want pedantic to the extreme try a camera forum.
If you want to be insulted, have a look at a European Vaping forum. They'll even comment about your mothers felicio ability!

slakjaw 05-19-2014 04:25 PM

Lol. Dude just called everyone who has ever posted in parf a D-nozzle. I think this forum is beyond repair.

Whats up with this place lately??

Really? I always thought you were so well mannered.

cabmandone 05-19-2014 04:31 PM

I'm going with, a lot of guys just got their cars out of winter hibernation and found out there were some problems with their cars. Makes ya grouchy.

rusnak 05-19-2014 05:02 PM

Like, oh muh gawd you guys are so mean. Like, I'm so sure!

KFC911 05-19-2014 05:11 PM

For better or worse, IMO this place is the same as it ever was....it's always had it's ups & downs. And just for the record...I was NOT an old guy when I started visiting this place 13 years ago....YOU guys made me that way :p

ps: I've never taken this place TOO seriously though obviously I like you guys/gals or I wouldn't be here....if it starts to get to ya...just take a hiatus. I know I've taken a few over the years and will continue to do so....but I'll always come back until I don't no more....just like everyone else :D
