I really wanna grab up a 951 before they become the next rage... That seems a tad optimistic, but who knows????

I think that's well beyond a tad optimistic, though I like the cars a lot.

That car has been driven an average of ~200 miles per year?
Why?

The 951 has what it takes to become a catchy higher $$$ collector, I'm hoping the 944 NA never does. I like it cheap/affordable.
Asking/Selling prices are two diff things. The 968 has extreme rarity in its favor - but frankly, the Boxer/Cayman is an extremely more attractive car to own. The '68 will attract tuners with more money than sense that want something "unique", the same crowd that drops $100K on a Honda Civic to make it "unique". I *almost* had a 968 as my first car, but its rarity intimidated me as a teenager with statistics showing I'm likely to wreck it. Frankly, there is a cycle - cash devalues, stock market bubbles, people want to get out of the market before the bubble bursts, so they look at alternatives, such as collector cars, cars bubble, then it all bursts together. Look at the Jag XJ220 as a good example of the car boom crashing.

Owner doesn't want to post it on EBAY because they know it would be laughed upon.

I could see that for a 968 CS, but not a mint regular 968.
That said, I will take a 924 Carrera GT off anyone's hands for free.

You'll never find another one but still $100K? However the right collector could pay that... How many "right" collectors are there? No rush, It will be for sale for a while.

Never gets driven, god only knows what was dry rotted on that thing, and some P-Car shops just abuse their customers.
When I got my Carrera was having a stumbling issue, took it to the local p car guy, he had the car for 2 days and could not figure it out and told me "let's try a valve adjustment", he tried to sell me 3 valve adjusts for $2k all up front. I laughed and left with my car, went around the corner to another shop, had the car fixed and back in my hands 2 hours later. Turned out the DME was shot.

That's normal for a car that's not driven much. Remember, it's 20 years old now.
(That number relates to a paid mechanic and not a DIY) If you look at a lot of ads for 911's there is one "theme" that seems to stand out. "in very good condition with low miles and well maintained but has had recent major engine or transmission work" Whenever I read that the first thing I ask myself is... Why has a low mile car had major engine or transmission work? Maybe normal for a mostly stored car but it still makes you wonder.

I'd absolutely love to have a 951 - I miss my old 924S all the time. I bought it with a bad timing belt and learned a lot while sorting it out but still managed to have a good time. That said, I do see them picking up someday but maybe around the same time that the nicer 928 models do and not to the degree that the air cooled ones have done.

Some fool missed out on a lot of fun with a great car. Pity for him it has little collectible value.
Regarding the 951 comments, the good ones seem to be creeping upwards. In 2004 I paid $7500 for a mint PCA owned 951 with light and tasteful mods, it was a fantastic car. Today it's hard to find any driver quality 951 for under $10k, and the one I had would probably be more like $12k. It's not air-cooled 911 appreciation by any means, but I think many of the previously unappreciated Porsches are starting to slowly appreciate. Probably by virtue of the fact that they were cheap cars for years, and quite a few were trashed. Not many good ones left.
