New wheels today

Got a new set of wheels today. Ordered in June, just came in today. Lost the order or something went astray, took a lot of patience, but I think it was worth it.
Should have a new set of Goodyear bluestreaks by end of this week to complete project.
No, I'm not putting them on the tractor.

Are you putting those on your 993?

found this:
T-Boned

You must have another car, no way will 15's look right on a 993.

Dedicated track (long hood) car?

Here is something on heat cycling.

Not on the 993, no. Would like to get a set in 16's though. Maybe some day.

They're going on a Jerry Titus tribute car we're building (now finished) for "showroom display" and the occasional hot lap. The number 8 Trans Am from 1970 I think. Canepa has one. He had a white one and a blue on. We're doing a whilte T.A., which is a favorite of ours. Will take a pic or two when we mount the wheels. It's all lettered and ready to go.

The white completed car is not the same car. It's from last year. The guy I work for (in the shipping business) is Trans Am crazy. He's got 5 or 6.

Some pics will follow,

I would have thought that something from American Racing or some Cragar's would have been more period correct.

Guess I don't know much about race car wheels of that time.

Here is a thread from another forum with A LOT of great pics from the late '60s Trans Am races. I found this while looking for pics of the '69 Sunoco Camaro that Donohue drove. A lot of the cars in the series ran Minilites. Some really cool Porsche content in this one, too.

Is Goodyear making Blue Streaks again, or is that a Coker reproduction?

(Nice pictures, by the way. Good thread!)

Great job. Many of those cars ran mini's, but it seemed to be in the 1970 season. Hope to see some pics when you're done.

They're Goodyear bluestreaks from Sasco motorsports in Virginia, I think. Just like the old days.

Will post as soon as we finish the hood scoop and get the other two (rear) tires. 600 x15 and 700 x 15 "G7's"

Tire Bird

Here's the other T.A. car in Canepa's collection and I think the only other T.A. built for Jerry Titus. He (Titus) was probably better known for his work with the Terlingua Mustang team.

This blue BFGoodrich car (Tire Bird) I'm not sure was ever raced.

ASAP. It needs a couple of things. Roll bar (we have) to be installed. Repaint the shaker as it didn't color match, the exhaust is a bit different (from post #11) as that is the real McCoy and we have a budget (sort of). We didn't want to hack into the rocker panel for exiting the exhaust, so we squished it (exhaust) instead. So It will look a bit diff. But other then that I hope it turns out good.

I have some pics now but not with the minilites and tires, and they really make this car, so I'm holding off till we mount them. So... pics soon. Thanks for looking.

We're already talking about one more car, maybe the AMC or the Penske Camaro. My boss is a Firebird nut so that's why the Jerry Titus car. My favorites are the Donohue AMC cars. The red/white/blue paint scheme is beautiful IMO. But it's his money so...

Jerry Titus tribute Trans Am

So here's that car pretty much done. Got side tracked a bit but glad we stuck it out, so here it is.

Next project is a Penske Camaro like this one.

More mini lites on the way! Just need to find a nice un-rusty '69 Camaro
