No, they did a great job laying the infrastructure. The "****ty job" was done by the corporations charging too much for the service.

What, you think you are "average" or something? I don't think so. Then you start thinking an argument with CP is going somewhere...

There is this too.

Interesting thing about those charts. It is all in percentages. Always dubious about charts that deal in percentages.

Thanks, Toby. Yes, arguing with some people is certainly an exercise in futility; however, I hold out hope that if you point out someone's idiocy enough times, they might start seeing it themselves.

on that one i will agree. thats still there fault though.

thats probably, in general there lasting legacy. even more than crumbling infrastructure. the death of the middle of class is a boomer thing, sacrificed to the gods of corporatism and supply side economics.

And the death of the English language lies squarely on the shoulders of millenials...

The reality of it is, CP, how can you expect anyone to take you seriously if you can't properly (and coherently) present your message? The vast majority of job postings I've seen have called for "Excellent ability to communicate effectively, both written and verbally." It really is important.

My step-son wants to be a writer. Problem is, his writing sucks. His stories aren't bad, but his grammar, punctuation, etc. issues make his stories all but impossible to read. He's a sophomore in high school, so he's still got time to improve. You're in your mid-late 20's. It's time to get started.

how can anyone take you seriously if you have NO CASE AT ALL, ON ANY LEVEL? what does that say about you if you trust someone who spells nicer than someone who actually had data, evidence, and logic on there side?

"but we do text to much ..."

its all the same ****. dodge the argument by trying to make the discussion about how ****ed up the baby boomers are, compared to the obviously and demonstrably more moral gen Yers, about my spelling. nice try. your still wrong. and yes i know i should have used you're instead of your, but i don't give a rats ass.

put another way ... if your only counterpoint, is that i spell badly, then you don't have a real counterpoint.

Not sure why you keep quoting "but we do text to much ..." (wrong "to" BTW)

So, you're willfully stupid; congratulations. Good luck moving up in the world and actually getting to a point where people will listen to you. Someday, it'll sink in...we hope.

Get that boy a trophy and an orange slice. He seems upset.

Some sweet irony in that rant.

so, the best comment anyone can make in response, only rises to the thrid level. wow. im pretty impressed by the boomers, no wonder they handed us a **** world and refuse to help us clean it up.

i love in in PARF when folks mock my spelling or claim i live in my parents basement (which is the funnest of them all, but i digress). all they are really doing is saying they lost an argument to someone who is bad at spelling, or lives in their parents basement. congrats. you still lost. whats more, you lost to someone who doesn't spell well. way to try and prove you are better! hahahaha

if you had a counterpoint besides spelling, you'd argue it. since you don't, you don't.

This whole pedantic grammar checking is so pathetic. I once posted in a discussion about the usefulness of a particular degree. I was typing in a rush while watching a hockey game. Seeing as how I was/am writing in an informal place, where I am not docked marks for small grammatical errors, I thought it was ok not to proofread EVERYTHING.

Instead, I was called out for my error. I used friends, instead of friend's, in an internet forum...

"We have college graduates on here (possibly post graduates) who don't know the difference between a plural "friends" and a possessive "friend's". I am not meaning to be mean or picky, but......what the heck?"

When I see LakeCleElum and gacook pointing out such little mistakes, after they clearly comprehended cockerpunks post, I just think why do you guys even bother?

Anyway, I'll get off your lawn now. Just had to get my ball. Nothing else to do as I'm unemployed and living in my parents basement.

*Disclaimer: This post is not guaranteed to be free of grammatical inconsistencies."

When you start pointing fingers at other "generations", you are part of the problem.
