I'd be looking for a wife in a whorehouse before I'd buy a used car from a dealership, but that's just me . I buy MOST of my vehicles from private parties but I have purchased some from a "good guy" that owns a lot and has been in business for decades. A straight shooter who sources "good quality" vehicles with no bs involved. Is Kaisen (did I spell it right) still locating vehicles for Pelicans? Just a thought...YMMV.

I went with a friend to the Chevy dealer to help her look at an HHR. They have some kind of 100 point inspection for their "certified" used cars. I asked him what it meant and he started rattling off a list of things they supposedly do. When he got to, "inspect the brakes and balance the rotors" I was polite but stopped listening. It was overpriced and the salesman was clueless so we moved on.
I like asking for records of what they replaced after their "100 point inspection". Funny how many 10 year old cars with 100k are PERFECT when the selling dealership inspects them. Meanwhile I've invested $1500 into a 2011 Jeep with 50k to get it ready for resale and up to my standards.

Almost every car dealer I've been to has been overtly apathetic as soon as they thought I might not "sign on the dotted line" then and there. Some almost showed me the door.
Bike dealers have been the opposite. In my local BMW dealer, I told the guy I was just killing time and he's reply was "talking bikes is better than sitting behind a desk, riding is better than talking, where's your gear?"
Guess who I bought 2 motorcycles from in the following 12 months?
