				What is this tool

A fellow came in and gave this to me. It has my family name scratched on it and he thought it was mine. I don't even know what it is. Brass case is about 3" long. Three blades have slightly different sized, sharpened knife points perpendicular to the blade. The word,"DORWICK" is printed on one of the blades.

Looks like a miniature version of what they used to use to bleed you.

Thanks guys. Rick was right. I looked up fleam and that's what it's called and that's what it's for. This is apparently a veterinarian's model. Put the blade over the vein and tap it with a hammer. Ouch!

Glad the mystery is solved! Instead of starting a new thread, I thought I'd post this up here. I need to find a few more of these, preferably with a straight tip. I think it is used in dentistry to pull excess amalgam from a tooth, similar to a de-soldering vacuum tool thingy (don't know what those are called either). Trying to get a couple to re manufacture a s weapon to use in a space station for a film. I'll see if I can get some better pics. TIA!

I have a number of tools which I can't identify. I'd like to get them off my bench to where they belong. I'm really curious about this one. It's a right angle drive, that much I know. But what it's for? I'm stumped. There are no identifiable markings other than "half". Tim K | ||

My guess is a vetrinary fleam. Used for letting out blood. Saw it used on All Creatures Great and Small

It appears to be a right angle drive that accepts threaded shank drill bits and other implements.

I've had 2 different versions of the 90° tool for use with a drill. One was very similar to the above - another which was quite a bit older had a cast metal body. One version had a 2X and a 1/2X gearing - whereby the gearing either doubled or halved the drill speed - depending on which "end" the drill was attached.
