Does Porsche Design offer coasters?

herr_oberst 10-03-2014 08:12 PM

Thanks for the coaster, Mike! My only hope is that I don't accidentally leave it behind...

The waitress even commented on it and she seemed fairly impressed....

Not sure, but I'm sure they must. Here's the closest thing I've got to that:

Hey Mike, I'm in! I could always use a little more class and culture in my life. I'll PM my address and post pics when it comes.

M.D. Holloway 10-04-2014 09:17 AM

Yes it does work down under! You just have to flip it over and drink upside down!!!

M.D. Holloway 10-04-2014 09:18 AM

Craig,
I'll get it in the mail today.

M.D. Holloway 10-04-2014 09:19 AM

As for the pics, they are fine on my laptop but sideways on my iPhone.

M.D. Holloway 10-04-2014 09:20 AM

I've begun a pictorial journal of the coasters adventures. I hope to publish it someday :)

I now also have coaster envy. (Reminds me a bit of the movie Amélie for some reason)

BRPORSCHE 10-31-2014 08:15 AM

Alright... How do I get in on the this madness? I want a coaster too! This is awesome.

M.D. Holloway 10-31-2014 05:09 PM

Tom, send me your shipping address and you too shall COAST!

vash 11-01-2014 10:00 AM

My New 'Thing'...I carry my own Coaster and use it...

Pffft! Mines thicker.

Just kidding. Mine is a sandbag weight for holding down maps and plan sheets.

Funny thread.

Hawkeye's-911T 11-01-2014 10:18 AM

Hey vash

I haven't seen a 'shot bag' (that's what we called them back in the day & actually contained lead shot - OSHA would probably have something to say about that nowadays) since I worked in drafting/engineering office in the 'pre-cad' era. I've since have found myself in a number of situations where they would've proved most useful.

Cheers
JB

vash 11-01-2014 10:22 AM

It's filled with lead?

I have a bunch of them. Awesome for holding plan sheets on my truck hood.

Bringing culture to those who have no culture are we?

Now I suppose within 6 months we are going to be seeing those fking things every where...it will be the latest flavor of the month...btw are we positioned to cash in on this

Ohh can I get one of those things in Merlot?

The possible shapes, colours and materials are endlessssssssssssssssssssssss.

pavulon 11-02-2014 03:54 AM

You'll know your idea has legs when requests for a condom compartment begin...at which point I'll be asking for royalties.

widgeon13 11-02-2014 04:33 AM

Will these coasters pass through security at the airport? :D

72doug2,2S 11-02-2014 04:45 AM

I might be interested if it could double as an eye patch for instant mad disguises.

Jim Horton 11-08-2014 11:01 PM

Drowning my sorrows at OSU:

(But thanks for the coaster, Mike!)

ckelly78z 11-09-2014 05:19 AM

You need to develop a coaster shaped like a Porsche crest, that would limit the masses from copying this idea. I would really love to get a nice personal coaster for myself.

frosty2 11-09-2014 05:57 AM

Hi Mike. I would love to get in on the madness as well I know I would be the envy of the neighborhood and I can see the way this craze is going it won't be long and they will be out of reach for the average joe.
Will send pm

Thanks
Mike

Scuba Steve 11-09-2014 06:31 AM

I could have really used one of these for an overfilled pint I ordered after A&M beat Auburn yesterday evening!

pics would be provided, of course.

M.D. Holloway 11-09-2014 08:14 AM

Mike - PM received and soon you'll be ....coasting

TABS,
As a man of wealth and taste, I beg you to accept one! we shall keep it exclusive. Only the upper of upper crust with a stiff upper lip and a firm grasp on top drawer items shall be permitted to have such. Feel free to PM your shipping address for your very own!

Bill Douglas 11-09-2014 10:46 AM

I never use a coaster. It kind of pisses me off when the ferkon things stick to the bottom of my beer glass.

If I leave spilt beer on the table, well that's the job of the bar staff to clean up.

You sir have had 'coaster fail' which has shaded and jaded your opinion leaving you undignified. The only solution is a ... COASTER for YOU!

PM a shipping address and we shall remedy your current opinion on COASTING :D

Bill Douglas 11-09-2014 11:56 AM

LOL. I accept a fail grade when I really have failed. And yes I have failed.

Thanks, but shipping to us foreigners is expensive. I'll use a vitual coaster in your honour next beer. I promise :)

Just toss some salt on the napkin or coaster and it won't stick. ;)

Bill Douglas 11-09-2014 01:27 PM

Huh, thanks.

Hugh R 11-09-2014 01:39 PM

Mail the coaster to me in California and I'll personally hand it to Bill Douglas when I see him in Wellington the first weekend of December. Better yet, send me two and I'll post a pic of us both using the coasters!

Mike, send me 3 and I'll hand deliver another one to Fishcop in Brisbane, AU the week before and we'll do the same thing, post a pic.

M.D. Holloway 11-09-2014 08:15 PM

Will do

Hugh R 11-09-2014 08:28 PM

I love traveling and getting to meet other Pelicans is a perk. I bet I've met a hundred or more and some in about a dozen countries.

Bill Douglas 11-09-2014 11:45 PM

Wow, thanks MD and Hugh.
