Gun range costs?

If you belong to a range what does it cost you to be a member?

Up here you have to be a member of a range to own hand spoons. My kid just renewed his membership for $500 & GST for the year.

In the San Diego area it varies according to the range. Our South Bay Rod and Gun Club lists for example for an adult under 65 (I think) it is $100 per year or $20 a day which is 8:00 AM to 4:00 PM. There are some other ranges that charge by the hour and have no memberships, so it varies.

I'm not a member. Local range is $200 yr. I'd rather pay the $12 non member fee per visit.

I pay about NZD$290 for the year. But it gives me access to a trade discount at a builders supply place, that last year saved me about $10,000.

Another club I goto charges $10 a day.

Twin Lakes Gun Club

$65 for family membership, about five miles from my house.
There's also a pretty nice rifle and pistol range in the National Forest about 40 miles away that is free.

Luckily, the high point of my property is about 100 yards from the low spot near a wooded creek, so I set up a permanent back board that I hang replaceable targets on. There are no houses for at least a mile when shooting downhill in that direction. I haven't ever been to a range so I can't comment there, but I plan on getting into skeet outback in the field.

Lucky SOB. This what I dream of doing. My in-laws have 40 acres, I frequently go shoot there.

To answer the original question, the range that I frequent is about $10/visit. I don't know what their member fee is because I really don't like shooting on an indoor range, and shoot at my in-laws' at every opportunity.

It depends on the range around here. I used to belong to an outdoor range and it was ~$400/yr. I now belong to an indoor range and it is $69/mth.

Most of the ranges around me that have tactical bays ans allow something other than shooting down the lane are around $250 to $350 per year. The indoor shooting lanes, I just pay as I go at around $10 per visit.

This is a indoor range. Hard to shoot well when it's -40 outside.

Only gun range I've ever been to was 40+ years ago ago at boy scout camp, and that's less than 1/2 mile from my house (since bulldozed and developed property). My range is now my own property "out in the country", and if I want to stop and go fishin' then I can do that too. I probably wouldn't shoot at all if I had to go to a public range....I'm just anti-social that way

The one I belong to is $150 per year. Only has 400 members and rifle range goes out to 200 yards. I usually go on Thursday and maybe two or three other members.

Mine is $175.00 a year with 2 required work days.

It's a large outdoor compound with archery, pistol range, rifle range, skeet, trap, sporting clays, combat pits, 22LR bullseye range, Wild West town and black powder area.

There are 5 ranges in my area that I am aware of.
One is an indoor, 25yd range. $10 per hour.
One is a DNR range. 100yds. Free
One is a private club that you have to be a voted-in member of. Multiple ranges; pistol, skeet, 100yd, and 300yd. Cost is about $250 per year with a few required work days and you have to come to the monthly meetings.
The other two are membership required, but you just buy in. No voting by members to approve you, and no monthly meetings. One I have not checked out to see what their facility is like, but the cost was $500/yr. The other has a 100yd and 300yd outdoor range, and the cost is $580/yr.
