Nice weather for touring today

Went to nearby early Acadian settlement at Mont Carmel, PEI . Lovely old church and peaceful resting place for some of my ancestors. Evangeline district (that's the Atlantic Ocean in the background).

That looks like a beautiful area.

What vehicle are you driving? It doesn't appear to be a 911.

I assume it's a Model A. I'm sure you enjoyed your day, they're fun to tool around in.

Nice old church and interesting history of the Acadians. I had to look it up. Was there an ongoing community after the deportation? The church looks to be of a later date.

Really cool looking ride! Did you put that together? What drive train in there. Interested in details. The wheels are great on it.

Cheers Richard

Great car! I like how the patina concept isn't too overdone.

We have not a lick of snow here so far. Had lots of rain instead. Drive the Rat and the 993 as much as I can now, we'll have lots of snow soon.

Yes there's an active community to this day. As for the hot rod, I had a hand in it but most was done by a good friend who builds hotrods for fun and driveability. The engine/tranny 350/turbo350. Tacoma front end power discs/power rack. All the goodies.
. A blast to drive.
Thanks for your kind words.

Another day of perfect weather

So, make hay while the sun shines, another mini road trip. Also another French catholic church along the south shore. This little village of Miscouche, not on the ocean but near it.

This area of our province is only just a mile and a half wide, between north and south shoreline. Will have to drive the 993 next time, if we get more of this fab weather.

Nice Yellow, thanks for posting the pics of that sano engine and install. I'd bet that powers the car nicely. One of the things that stands out to me is the original full fendered body lines and details, bumpers, door handles , grill and cap, etc. all looking original except the wheels and a glimps of those discs, sweet! And subtle, love it. Are the fenders and running boards also steel? How did you get the body? Was this a long term project? Pardon the 3d. Degree, but it is interesting.

On different note, that twin spire church design is pretty wide spread, I remember seeing a similar church built in
Riatea , French Polynesia

Thanks again for sharing your Hot Rod with us.
Enjoy the good weather!

Cheers Richard

Wow JJ 911 SC.
Did you pull that engine so you could spend the winter polishing the hard to reach parts of the engine and top of the tranny? Super nice setup.
My SC engine don't look like that at all :-)

Cheers Richard

All steel, original frame with Tacoma front a real easy fit. Power brake booster is on the frame about mid car. Pan hard bar (anti sway) all nicely done by my good friend who can build one of these in one season (year). Car came to us fairly complete, but my friend is very skilled and can do anything, just about. The roof had a large soft portion in the middle, so we installed a jeep Cherokee roof. So it has those nice long
seams. Many subtle diffs that seldom get noticed, but the amazing thing is how it drives so darn good! I truly love driving this thing. I've had it 3 yrs and have 15,000 miles on it so far. I love my Porsche, but this thing gets ALL the attention. Thanks for the interest and the kind words. I show it so much on the PP forum that I'm sure most people are sick of looking at it.

Thanks Richard,

May have something to do with OCD...

With the lift it a 3 hours job so its much easier to do the valve adjustment, spark plug change and the never ending cleaning up (OCD).

This is the last project that I'm starting this year, I got another 6 on the go (post 2-6 of 14/15 Winter Project + the full pedal Rennline kit.

As for the transmission it use to look like this (post 2 of http://forums.pelicanparts.com/cleaning-detailing-polishing/550748-best-cleaner-bar-none.html)

Cheers

JJ

Still touring today (Tues 30th), still looking at churches and graveyards, but that's just an excuse to go driving while the roads are so good. Last week temps were +15 today it's -23C including wind chill(about - 12 F) good thing the rat has a good heater.

Still touring around: this time in a different car.

Snowy on one side of the island, summer on the other side.

Last day of good weather

So last good day of driving.

This is where Lucy Maud spends her time now. Maybe you've heard of her. She's kind of our version of Ayn Rand, or Virginia Wolfe but maybe more widely read. (I think)

Blue house just down the road is Dion Phaneufs place. The Toronto torment.

Couldn't find Lucy, it was too cold, but grampie and mommy were nearby.

Anyway, over and out till we get better weather.[img]
