I use Siri mostly for directions. The planes thing is very cool!

I asked what satellites were above me. She gave me web sites so I could look it up myself. I think she's getting lazy and needs some competition to motivate her.

I travel a lot. I always ask for the best restaurant.

She finds a list of nearby restaurants based on heir yelp (I think) ratings. Super useful.

Unit conversion is good too.

My 4.5 year old son also likes he robot in dad's phone...

Send a message via MSN to sc_rufctr
I use it to send txt messages to my kids when I'm walking. It works fine and it's much easier than typing.

Siri is pretty cool and yes I call upon her frequently. I do hope that Apple continues to refine the technology.

I like the "hey Siri, what song is this" feature. Pretty neat.

yes I use it for hands free stuff, information like what time do the steelers play, call home. But it has trouble with some pronunciations. You have to talk like it talks to get it to hear what you want it to hear.

Frequently. When I'm driving and want a reminder (synch'd with ToDo Pro) or schedule an appointment. When driving and need to call someone. When driving I use it to text or email.

When I'm cooking, you can ask Siri, "Set a timer for three minutes"

Forgot to mention this before: A few updates ago, they interfaced with Wolfram Alpha, which is a fantastic computational engine. So instead of pointing you to websites for complex calculations, conversions (miles to km for example), this inferface allows Siri to give you the results immediately. Working for a Germany company, I use Siri smetimes to quickly calculate dollars to Euro, miles to km...etc. Quick and easy.

I'd probably use it more if I could go hands free with it. ...but if I have to unlock the phone and then press a button, I'll just finish the job myself to ensure accuracy.

Google also has a "Siri-esque" function now. It's not bad, but it doesn't talk to you. I like the novelty of Siri, as far as asking "her" stupid questions and getting stupid responses back, but that's about all I'd use it for.

The other day, my son was looking up something on Google, and he started talking into his phone to get Google to search (don't get me started on his query...so not efficient), and I chastised him for how lazy his generation is. We, as kids had to go to the library, read books, read encyclopedias, etc. to perform research. Along came the internet and made everybody's lives easier; and NOW, they're too damn lazy to even TYPE what it is they're looking for, they just "talk" it! He thought my rant was funny, and it was intended in jest, but the point is still there...we are getting quite lazy as a society as we get smarter.

If you have an iPhone do you use Siri.....

The drive to invent and create new technologies (which is not a lazy pursuit) has ironically always been driven by a desire to be more lazy and have to do less of life's menial tasks. Is this necessarily bad? (No right or wrong answer - just an interesting discussion topic).

I wasn't impressed by Siri, until I asked her to find me a massage with a happy ending..and she did that exactly!
I shall not disclose further info

Didn't the guy who invented the sewing machine delay release because he was afraid of putting seamstress out of work?

There is an app... I think it is called "assistant" that will talk back to you... male/female and you can even opt for a UK voice... however it was a little buggy so on my new phone I think I am using the google thing.
