You mean, the Ford Mustang or the 944? I caught my 356 on fire once. Fuel line cracked. Luckily I put out in time and fixed it. Drove home. Had a few tractor fires and one in the 1-ton truck too. Been lucky each time.

The fire was in my shop. Among the stuff that went up in smoke was my welding helmet.
All the cobwebs sucked up that soot. Them black hangy things were everywhere and I still haven't got em' all. Sure, I was lucky that the whole shop didn't go up......I keep telling myself that as I clean up the gawd awful mess.

In the last 35 yrs I,ve had two cars burn up in shops. First a 1964 corvette having a muffler replaced at my local Midas store. There is a hose that drains overflow from the gas filler cap area down into the body. The shop set the hose end on fire like a fuse heading for the tank. They only realized when they lowered the car and discovered a growing burnt circle near the rear. Rear end was painted doors back by their insurance.
Last one a small shop changing out a fuel pump in a taxi The tank was half full and tilted down with the electric pump hanging out during replacement. The tech dropped his trouble light and set the spillage on the floor ,which quickly consumed the car and the two bay shop. They used up both extinguishers to get themselves to a door. Opening the door allowed oxygen in and blew them both into the parking lot
You are really lucky you didn,t get hurt or lose the shop entirely.

"Finished"......HA.!!!

The starter motor puked and the motor got hot.

I'm a hot rodder. It will be finished when I decide to move along to something else or am taking the dirt nap..... But thanks for the compliment.
