Oh, yes, every single one!

Really?

That's funny because I work for a north American fortune 150 corporation that has zero off-shore holdings or accounts or dealings. And they pay lots and lots of taxes.

Dumb post.

I agree Trader Joes in Palm Springs is a great store. Albeit not big but a well laid out store.

I think they as a group and Home Foods take care of their employees pretty well.

It seems many US corporations are successful here. McD's and Walmart are examples.
Target in Canada is closing all stores in Canada with the loss of 17,000 jobs. Sony(likely Japanese) is closing its stores in Canada as well.

Changes are coming fast. The lower cost of oil has hit this Province and many of these oil corps may undergo changes if the barrel of oil stays low for a sustained period of time.

I'm talking about dollar equivalent value of brand and brand loyalty of card members. Retailers aren't going to love anyone who charges them a fee for payment method. There it's a matter whom they hate the least. But I worked there and you can't imagine the brand loyalty of some of those folks. I regularly had customers threaten to leave if they didn't get a black card, which has a $2800 annual fee. People begged for them!

That's not brand loyalty. That's bragging rights. Just like having an iPhone 6s or whatever the latest fad gadget is.

Would you say that Apple is a "respected" company because there are lines around the block to buy the latest doo-dad?

Personally I view "respect" as something else entirely. I respect corporations that are willing to take risks, do "the right thing", provide shareholder value, and are (or at least maintain the appearance of being) good corporate citizens. Google was probably up there at one point but their questionable privacy and social agenda(s) have cost them respect from a lot of one-time fans (myself included).

The problem is that right now--using the criteria above--I can't think of a corporation that is worthy of any respect. Well, maybe McMillan and Barrett. But they're small potatoes.

How old do you have to be to make Nike soccer balls? Evidently about 12 or 13.

3M, Medtronic, Land o' Lakes, Ecolab, C.H. Robinson, Cargill, St. Jude Medical, Boston Scientific, Andersen Windows.

Did you want a list of just the ones in the metro area or is it ok to add those in out state Minnesota?

Hormel, Marvin Windows, Toro, Polaris, Fastenal.

Plenty of highly respected companies in North America.

Here's your quote from the Sears thread:

"LOL, if the CEO does what it takes to make a company profitable and sustainable, he's a greedy POS and only cares about lining his pockets and the pockets of his cronies.

But if he DOESN'T do what it takes to make a company profitable, he's incompetent and only cares about lining his pockets and the pockets of his cronies.

Karl would be proud."

Most Respected......

In my way of thinking, FORD would be one. After all, they managed to get thru the late depression without taking a handout from Uncle Sam!
