Yeah I forgot about Sean Avery and his "blind the goalie" antics. |

As I write this I'm sure I've just jinxed things... |
Marchand is an amazing hockey player.
work ethic? extraordinaire. |
Still a goon. Not that there is anything wrong with that.
|
I understand all the haters gonna hate Marchand for his past tricks. That said, I don't think of him as a "goon" in the hockey definition of the word like these guys: Marty McSorley, George Laraque, Donald Brashear, Terry O’Reilly, Dave Schultz, Tiger Williams.
March is a first class pain in the butt agitator. That guy everyone hates but wants him on their team. |
Marchie got away with a slew foot in a dangerous spot on Ekman-Larsen last night. Once again, my "Canuckleheads" P-K couldn't stop the P-P. At this point they would have a rough time of it with the P-P of St. Swythyns Girls.

McKenzie was known for his pesky style of play, |
What a guy!
The NHL announced Monday night that Bruins left winger Brad Marchand has been suspended three games for slew-footing Vancouver Canucks defenseman Oliver Ekman-Larsson during Sunday night's 3-2 B's win at TD Garden. It's the seventh suspension of Marchand's career and the second time he's received one for slew-footing. |

It's almost like we were petitioning the hockey gods for some Bad Brad action...:) |
Well, he was doing good. :(
If it were Crosby there would have been no penalty or suspension. |
Well you can call me biased if you wish but I just saw the supposed slewfoot.
No call on the play, no discussion from the announcers, no complaint from the Canucks, Marchand was off balance. How that can be called a suspension I have no idea OTHER THAN a reputation penalty. Flame away if you wish but that's all I'm gonna say. Maybe he is being judged as strongly as I judge Crosby. |
It didn't look like a clearly intentional slewfoot but as with high sticking the player must maintain control of such things. So, even if unintentional it needed to be addressed. 3 games may be a bit much but Brad is lucky there was no injury or it could have been worse.
Joe may be correct in that his reputation probably resulted in a stiffer punishment but his reputation is his fault. |
Oh no, that was deliberate and BM knew exactly what he was doing. Got under his opponent, stood him up and swept the leg going into the boards.
Just because there was no call (remember the Cindy throwing someone head first into the boards?) and no injury to the opposing player (kind of like the Cindy thing...) that doesn't mean that appropriate punishment should not be given. Was definitely a reaction from the play by play guy in the video I posted. Maybe not on the Bruins feed... |
Uh oh, he's at it again.
Scored 2 in the last three games and scored a hat trick against the HABS tonight :D Here's a pic of his nose when he had a run in with a Capital player the other night http://forums.pelicanparts.com/uploa...1642040498.jpg |
That's a good look for Brad! ;)
Talented bugger when he puts his mind to it. |
i'll say it again - amazing work ethic.
let's not forget all the charity work Marchand is involved with. the hate thing? it's getting a bit tiresome. |
Oh well, I knew it was too good to last.
Marchand only scored one goal yesterday. It broke the streak of consecutive games with 2 or more goals. :( He's got 20 goals in 27 games played. Not shabby. http://forums.pelicanparts.com/uploa...1642360965.jpg |
What are you intimating Joe - the other 2 can't play hockey for $h1t??
