Second down and 1. Lynch. Call timeout if it fails. Third down and 1. Pass. If incomplete, clock stops. Fourth and 1. Lynch. Geez....

The way they lined up I thought Wilson was going to run the ball. That would have been a better call. Any high school coach could have/would have done better. Worst call ever. Doug Baldwin: Class Act. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=WPQxfvYXZyQ

I've seen some incredibly dull, predictable Super Bowls. This was not.
For me to say I could call the last play better means that I'd have to be able to meet or beat all other play calls. Can't just walk in on one. Have to take responsibility for them all. I can't. With injuries plaguing the defense, they seemed to play catch-up all game, stopping further yardage on completed passes--but not stopping/preventing the passes in the first place. Would rather have seen a different outcome. But it was a darn good game.

That was brilliant sneakiness by the Pats at the end to get the Seahawks to jump offsides. Took all the risk out of the end. (And somewhat ironic, as a safety is what the Pats **should** have done 2 weeks earlier at the end of their game against the Ravens to seal the win in a near risk-free manner instead of punting from their own endzone with 7 seconds to go.) Funny that's what I said immediately after they awarded it to him during the MVP celebration. Brady has everything he could want in life including a multimillion dollar, multi-year deal. Butler is just a kid out of western Alabama who was an undrafted free agent so I'm sure he's doing okay but isn't exactly raking in the big bucks. Yes he's an NFL player and I'm sure he's doing okay, but just okay. He could probably use that truck a bit more than Brady.
The Starbucks picture is HILARIOUS! Comedic genius whoever came up with it! Ditto the auto-correct. I still wonder if the plan really was to take the safety and kick it back to Seattle - I tend to think not. Give it to Brady for a quick short run or (more likely) a short drop pass. He'd been nailing those the whole second half and was on fire with them AND they're his staple anyway. I think the Pats would've gotten out of the end zone okay but obviously they were looking for one of Seattle's young, testosterone-juiced hotheads to jump and predictably, they did. Good call on Brady / Bellichick's part. Gave them more options. I believe NE still had two timeouts and the decision by Bellichick to NOT use one was brilliant. A huge vote of confidence to his defense (he's always been a good defensive coach) and it paid dividends. Of course if it hadn't he's in a bad situation with very little clock time left, down by three (or four if Seattle went for two and got it - my suspicion is they would have) and about 20 seconds to get it down field. Tall order, even for Brady who is well-known for such "hurry up" drives and does them better than anyone else. Hell of a game. I'm not disappointed to see some of the particular arrogant, classless and thug-like Seahawks players get a slice of humble pie to eat. Who knows, maybe it'll help them develop a little bit of class as they struggle with it emotionally (but more likely they'll go on angry rages and beat up their girlfriends or whatever knowing some of those guys...). Who the heck was the woman who performed with Katie Perry about halfway through her performance? She was downright awful. That "music" sucked ass. KP's performance otherwise I thought was great and it's always cool to see Lenny Kravitz!

I don't think the plan was to take the safety either. I'd bet Brady was going to run a sneak, if he couldn't draw them offsides, after the delay of game penalty (whats another 3 inches). If he gets forward, great they win the game, if he gets pushed back, well there's the safety and they already had a plan in place for that. The only risk would be a fumble on the attempt and Brady is one of the top if not the #1 at QB sneaks so it was unlikely.

This is an example of the value of a well-coached, disciplined team. Let Brady come at you if he can, don't get overexcited and do something stupid. The Hawks still had a prayer until that offside.

Ohh, a safety would have been bad. My money was on Pat's -2. A safety would have been bad bad very bad.

Tom Brady best of all time, by the numbers (screw opinions). Denying he's in the top 5 is just trolling...
