He's been around for a while. Now that he has become well known, I see him in older movies, and think, Oh, there he is. He has a diverse portfolio.

Strong reaction here for sure!
I feel vindicated (as much as one can be in matters of opinion) based on what I now see as stage acting used on screen which, IMO, a good actor should know how to modify as appropriate. Nonetheless brit drama is the soup du jour and i'll just look forward to this phase passing.

As far as Benedict Cumberbatch goes, I don't think he has ever ruined a movie or tv show for me. I liked his voice work as Smaug in the Hobbit. His version of Khan was a bit of a d*** but that was more the character than the acting.
I think overall he is talented and brings his own take to his roles. Some people like them and some don't.

He's not that bad but he does have that annoying quality at times.
I can think of lot worse actors who have done really well in Hollywood.
