Jimmy wanted her to get out of the apartment. Lalo wanted to bait people away from Gus so he could video tape his execution in the lab.

It seems like something should happen to or with Lyle the LPH manager. He’s been a somewhat unnecessary but consistently present character.

Sooner or later 07-18-2022 06:20 PM

Kim? That's it?

Probably the outcome that makes the most sense.

Kim left because it's who she is.

Jimmy lost her because of who they are.

What is the deal with the chicken man drinking wine in the bar?

pavulon 07-19-2022 08:01 AM

Gus won't allow himself to stray from the mission that isn't finished.

I wonder about that too. They never really do a scene like that for no good reason.

It was as if Gus was flirting with the wine guy----and then he snapped out of it and got out of there quickly.

Gustavo is gay and attracted to David the wine guy. But Gustavo lives a dangerous life that does not afford him the opportunity for normal interpersonal relationships, notwithstanding the fact that any partner becomes an immediate target - like how his former partner Max ended at the hands of the cartel.

Gustavo celebrates his victory of escaping Lalo and enhancing his territory by drinking some wine and chatting with David. He doesn't let it go farther then that and he bolts out of there knowing its not a path he can realistically follow in his present life.

I'm comfortable with that read on it, but the length of time spent on this scene is proportional with something more important than just a window into Gus Fring's deeper emotions. There must be a little more to this I think.

Yes. 100% flirting. But I don't think Gus is confused about who he is and didn't snap out of it. I am pretty sure Max was more than his business partner based on the scene where Max was killed.

man! you guys are good. i was thinking that... but I was kinda attracted to the chunky wine waitress... she would prolly cook me breakfast, rub my feet and appreciate the limited love im capable of giving.

bet she'd drive me places too.

CurtEgerer 07-20-2022 07:13 AM

So that's it? Kim just packs her bags and leaves? That's her exit from the show?

I agree it would be disappointingly simple if that's it.

I keep thinking about how she lingered on the business card of the vacuum guy "disappearer" when they were in the vet's office looking at his black book. I was thinking that might be the key to Kim disappearing from the show.

But now I think it might only be that they were showing us that Jimmy ultimately bought the book of contacts from the vet. I think that little black book will end up explaining how Jimmy became the Saul that we saw in the last episode (and in BB) - he developed connections for hookers, Xanax, and of course Nutri-grain bars.

CurtEgerer 07-20-2022 01:36 PM

The timeline seems to have jumped forward quite a bit right after Kim left. And Saul's mention of 'the public masturbater" last night makes me wonder if we jumped directly to the BB episode where Saul first meets Walter and Jesse (when Badger got arrested). Saul walked into the police station and mistook Badger for a public masturbater case.

The Manager said that with the iron in the soil, it drinks like blood. That I think set him off.

Baz 07-25-2022 05:47 PM

Don't forget another episode tonight. I'm watching Dan Abrams Live now - and will watch the 2nd run......

Sooner or later 07-25-2022 05:59 PM

A very strange episode.

Baz 07-25-2022 07:28 PM

I enjoyed it - I knew Jeffrey would screw up during the heist...lol.....Saul of course ad libbed through it like a pro!

Couple homages to:

1. The Dirty Dozen in the sequence of nabbed merchandise with rhymes....

2. The split screen ala Frankenheimer's Grand Prix & The Boston Strangler - plus more....

The camera work alone in this series is impressive!

juanbenae 07-30-2022 07:00 PM

what season started with jimmy in the Cinnabon gig?

pavulon 07-30-2022 07:24 PM

Season one. ?1st episode?

We all watched this show because we wanted to see Saul Goodman in action. I like that we saw how he developed. He was a real person who got involved with the wrong crowd. He just wanted the approval of his brother. Then he wanted to help his GF/Wife. He paid with a year out of law and developed the Saul Goodman persona.

*RANT ON*
I don't give a flying fark about Gene. I want to see Saul Goodman doing his Schtick. We finally reach that point in the series and we lose an entire episode to Gene? So happy they gave Carol Burnett some work. But we came to see Saul Goodman.
*/RANT OFF*

Wow! Great show!!!

Seeing Jessie and Heisenberg (and the RV!) back together again was like old times! :)

Yeah, I was hoping to spot the portable Honda generator (not painted red) from Season 1 of Breaking Bad. I remember first seeing it amd couldn't wait to tell everybody at work (Honda) that our Honda EU3000Is generator had gone 'outlaw' :p

'zactly, I said that out loud while watching. haha

Btw, that last guy with cancer is Stuart from Big Bang, the comic book store owner. I bet he's dead when Saul finds him. The barbituates they gave him, combined with the booze and his meds prob kills him.

I really wanted to see Kim's departure. Then, he has the phone booth convo...was that supposed to be her on with him?

If yes, then she'll be back or we'll learn more about the call.

Me, too... I was crushed for Saul when she broke it off.

Yes, he called her workplace.

The only way it could be someone else is if the person on the other end was telling him Kim didn't work there anymore, but as I remember it, there were clues in the context it was Kim.

Two episodes remain. Predictions? Loose ends you want to see shored up?

Sooner or later 08-08-2022 06:33 PM

Kim!

CurtEgerer 08-10-2022 10:09 AM

Jesse has aged big time. Voice and face! Did not realize the old lady was Carol Burnett until last night! Interesting scene with Kim and Jesse. So the entire connection to Saul was the result of Kim.

CurtEgerer 08-10-2022 11:10 AM

Predictions? It certainly isn't going the way I thought it would. Was expecting much more of an overlap with BB. The one thing that has been consistent is the scams. So I think there will be one last big scam by Kim and Saul. Saul because he's Saul and needs a change. Kim because she'll get charged in the murder of Howard. Maybe it will result in them living happily ever after in a distant location, setting things up for another sequel???

pavulon 08-10-2022 02:27 PM

There will be no more scams involving Kim as a participant. She scammed for the thrill of it and has/is now making square her selfish ways and feeling the pain she has caused. Jimmy scammed because it numbed his pain--he's a classic addict. I don't see him surviving Monday night a free man (at best).

Deschodt 08-10-2022 03:39 PM

There would be some poetic justice if Pinkman was the only survivor..

CurtEgerer 08-11-2022 08:34 AM

We shall see :D

CurtEgerer 08-11-2022 08:46 AM

The timelines are a bit confusing, but 'Gene' is already in Nebraska at the same time Walt is hiding in New Hampshire. Maybe Walt stops by the Cinnabon for a visit on his way back to NM .... and takes out Saul.
