Went for the "Z"

Recently did a couple of posts about cars, including RX7's, 240Z's, yellow Boxster, etc.

In the end, I found a super clean, rust free 1971 series 1 240Z. I paid a bit more than I budgeted, but came from a reputable local seller with a good history.

Can't wait to start tinkering!

I was really inspired by what this guy has done, but won't go this extreme. Love the sound!

Thanks for the input and suggestions in the other threads!

You did well! That's a sharp looker.

(The wheelwells will benefit from some sidewall, but you already know that!)

Welcome to the Z car club! That's a nice looking Z. If you ever have any questions feel free to ask. I have a pretty good parts stash as well.

Awesome! Thanks. I should have the car Saturday and will reach out once I have a better feel for what it may need. I know I need a wood shift knob, but those are $$.

Man, i've had so many of those, and my favorite was a pristine bright blue 71 240Z. The only reason I started with Porsches, is that finding a rust free -Z- is like winning the lottery. NICE RIDE !

Ooooo, right, the 917 style. Dave, right? Need to search....

A bit more on the Z. Unfortunately, it's not a full matching numbers car and has a later L28 motor. It drives well and is fairly fast. The stock SU carbs probably need an overhaul, but I score a deal on a set of triple webers. I may drop in another cam and will be adding headers and a different exhaust for sure. Interior is really clean as well. More pics to come!

Before I got my 1st Porsche, I drove a '78 280Z for many years. I had a lot of fun with it and spent way too much time and money on it. Kind of like on my 930

Unfortunately I didn't take any pictures of it before I sold it, but here's one of it with most of the work done.

Yeah, I'll be getting a synchrometer and tool kit with the triple webers. I'll mess with the SU's before I take them off, though...

saw this at a local country supermarket parking lot.

nasty little Z car. pure nasty.

was impressed enough to shoot a bunch of still photos, a bit of video for the growl from side pipes, and even edit it down to a short video as seen here.

I should of asked for a ride.

The only 300Z that I have ever liked!

Nice series 1 Viper! I still miss my Z cars.

Hey Brad....I think I have a factory original wooden shift knob out of one of my old 240z race cars. If I can find it it's yours. If you're serious.
