The biggest problem in society today is the sense of entitlement.

I can remember when Prince came out with his ..Party like it's 1999 song. That seemed like an eternity away at the time.

1999 was about seeing NO immediate future and that we should all enjoy the limited time we have before nuclear armageddon.
It is ironic that it seems an eternity ago we had reactionary leaders with their fingers on the button. I distinctly remember being taught that the Russians were the most evil people on the planet and deserved to die in nuclear fire. It is interesting that a generation of children will have no understanding of the Cold War. Although Putin seems determined to take us back there...

Yea true - something I've thought about a lot too. I grew up with the ever-present threat of nuclear annihilation as a result of differing opinions about economic systems. Pretty stupid when one thinks about it but there it is...
The Cold War years were strange ones.

Consider the advancements in medicine, communications, electronics, heck even cars are 10X more reliable then ever before. I Think we are way to hard on ourselves, we forget how things were.

Read "Physics of the Future" by Kaku. Developments of the last 100 years are nothing compared to what's coming in the next 100. Fascinating stuff our kids will see...if we don't anhialate ourselves first.
