-12 this morning, wind chills are -20.

No school again.

Off to my in-laws to help insulate their attic space. Grandma will eye the kiddies while Grandpa and I work.

There seems to be a pattern to this madness, it usually warms up on Sat and sun only to snow another 6" and then on Monday morning (suchas today), it dives below zero and stays under 15-20 degrees until the next weekend when it warms up and snows. I need a few days where the ground is frozen with no snow, and near 30 degrees to cut down a bunch of dead Ash trees along my creek for my wood supply. I feel like a mouse on a treadmill with this whole cold weather/burning firewood bit, but I do save a couple thousand a year doing it.

I'd die in those low temps. Here I'm already running the AC on my drive home.

Yep. Then at school set the .22 in the corner to bag dinner on the way home.

It was so cold Saturday night the aluminum rims on the truck shrank and let out between 50%-100% of the air. No fun filling tires when it's that cold out.

I was outside last night playing with the dog. My glass of bourbon and coke froze a little ring around the glass with every sip, so I had a frosty glass with lots of little ice rings. That was pretty cool.

I grew up in the 70s and we didn't have but a few snow days and it was for actually SNOW, not the temps.

Today I spent 10 hours installing insulation in the in-law's attic. Earned some cash and a nice supper. My knees are going to hurt tomorrow!

At least it wasn't stupid cold up there once we got the drafts sealed.

It was so cold today we had to yell during conversations because the words froze before they got there.

I served my time in that hell of the Midwest. Now I'm 220 miles from Havana Cuba and plan to stay. I remember days in teens when we thought it was a heat wave after a week straight of -20 and single digits.

It was 79 and sunny today.

It was 51 this morning when the alarm went off, darn near too cold to get out of bed.
Good thing the heater was cranked up.

I know I know, I hate me too sometimes
