Just tell them it was a little mishap at the gym where your nose met a foot and you don't care to elaborate. Had my nose broken (I think) in a football game, when I turned too late catch a bullet pass and got it directly in the nose. My parents never took me to a doctor when I got an injury. My nose swelled up & both eyes turned black. Since then I've had a deviated septum.

Lots of double takes but no one asked how it happened. Anyhow, it hurts like crazy, will go into an urgent care tomorrow since my own doctor can't take me until Tuesday. I honestly can't get over on how much it hurts, it's been basically throbbing for 4 or 5 hours.

Got kicked in the face tackling a college football player during a mud football game. That hurt something fierce. I was at summer camp at the time and would't you know it, the camp doctor had his day off and was playing golf. Shoved paper towels up my nostrils to stop the bleeding until he came back - pre-cell phone, so I was in pain for a few hours.

Good that your bud, the ER doc, was there. Even if he didn't see it happen, I'm sure you were glad to have someone of his capabilities there to check you out and evaluate the likelihood of a concussion... I'm assuming he did more than just reset it... maybe asked you what day it was, etc.

If you end up looking like a raccoon, just nab some lightly tinted sunglasses to wear at work... and post a selfie with one hand reaching toward the camera with that REALLY REALLY WANT meme on it like the one with the raccoon we've all seen many times.
