How does the star rating work? Does it show an average of the ratings or what? I've never paid any attention to these stars until this thread came up. I gave it five stars just to see how it works, but it only shows three at the top of the thread. Do I get a refund or something?

I've seen people imply that they can see the ratings that others give on a thread. How is that done if at all?

Rating should be limited to OT and PPOT and general discussion. I have at least two asshats that one star my graphics ads. I've never screwed anyone.......hell I even replace stuff that is boogered up on install......free.

MD, I really don't notice them nor care if a post of mine gets any stars. If I make a post I am trying to find an answer to a question I have, not trying to determine my popularity. This is supposed to be a informational forum.

That is why when I make a post it is meant to reflect how intelligent, knowledgeable, and wise I am. :D

I had a roof estimate done and the sales person was a pretty girl. I took a pic of her up on my roof and posted it. I've posted all sorts of pics but this one took on a life of its own...

I thought it was funny that a pretty girl was up on my roof is all. Some guys thought it was in bad taste.

Of course there was the picture you took of her while she was sitting at your table doing paperwork...

Wow 2011? That thread created quite an impact. It had the full internet thread life, only missing the obligatory reference to WWII Nazis.

Two things made it much worse then it could have been. Mike included "Smitten" and "14 year old girl" in the same post/thread. It would have been more benign to say, girl in her mid 20s gave me a roof quote, here's a pic. Just leave off her age when she started. Chick dug the targa, prolly could leave that one off too.

Yes, I would feel creepy about taking that pic across the table, unless I needed it for some insurance reason con artist, etc. At least he asked.
