GM service and Cadillac...
A facebook friend of mine with a Caddy suv says:
GM next time you do an oil change please put oil in it. I responded: the cylinders will be scored. They owe you a new engine. The best response was: Don't worry bro that engine does not run any better with oil in it. Guy ![]() |

One Cadillac was enough for me. Dealing with the same service advisors and techs that also service a $12k Cruze does not make for a premium experience. Cadillac and Lincoln both need to learn this lesson ASAP, premium buyers demand premium service.

Around here Cadillacs are only sold at Cadillac dealers. We've had the same 1994 Deville since new and no complaints with the service.
Lucky for your facebook friend...the LS series engines in those things are tough...unlucky for him is that it probably locked up! |

When I was a wrench for GM (Cadillac actually) I left an oil rag on top of a 4.9L exhaust manifold. By the time the car was pulled around for customer pickup it was engulfed in flames. We all make mistakes I suppose.
(GM Replaced the car)

I guess the question would be whether or not it was performed by an actual technician or just a hired lube kid! I work as a GM/Cadillac technician for the last 15 years. Whats the difference between a Tahoe and an Escalade or a SRX and a Traverse...very little other than gismos and badges! You pay the premium for the bling the badge and a slightly longer bumper to bumper warranty! Its unfortunate that a mistake was made, it happens! As a technician, all the vehicles I repair get the same workmanship regardless of the nameplate.
