GoDaddy to end Danica Patrick's sponsorship

Company still wants NASCAR driver as spokeswoman

GoDaddy will not renew its primary sponsorship with the Stewart-Haas Racing No. 10 Chevrolet driven by Danica Patrick, according to a release on Wednesday. But the company revealed it is negotiating to keep Patrick as a GoDaddy spokeswoman under a personal services agreement.

"We love Danica and all she does to empower and inspire people, especially women, which is why we are working to keep her in the GoDaddy family," said GoDaddy Chief Marketing Officer Phil Bienert in the release. "We have the utmost respect for Stewart-Haas Racing, and they've been phenomenal partners. ... The fact Danica is having a record-setting season makes it tough to leave this motorsports sponsorship, without a doubt."

In nine NASCAR Sprint Cup Series races this season, Patrick has two top-10 finishes, including a seventh-place finish at Martinsville. With her ninth-place finish at Bristol Motor Speedway, Patrick set a Sprint Cup Series record for top-10 finishes by a woman driver with six for her career.

"GoDaddy has been an incredible partner for a very long time, almost nine years, and as I've said before, our brands have really grown up together," Patrick said in the release. "It's pretty cool, from a marketing perspective, that we helped GoDaddy build such strong brand awareness here in the U.S. I'm excited to work with GoDaddy on a personal level moving forward, but will miss having their bright green color on my race car next year."

look for a mysterious pole or at minimum...a very good result for danica soon. nascar is in no way beyond manufacturing a result. they feel they need her despite he relative lack of talent. they may want to help build more value in danica for the purposes of retaining the existing primary or acquiring a new suitor(s).

Danika is definately a hot little commodity, and probably a good spokesperson, but i'm sorry.....just an average racer. She seems to do really well at the superspeedways but gets punted into the wall towards the end of races, or somehow has some misfortune befall on her. She is good for the sport and will continue to race under another sponser who is probably waiting in the wings.

She's 16th, with no wins, no podiums (big surprise)... how does that set a record?

The best thing about the Go Daay sposorship was that the car can be seen a mile off, so other drivers can get out of her way.

No bacon, but there is that happy face she is so well known for.
I was talking the other day with my sister ( big Nascar fan )
And was saying how well her replacement in Indy cars has been doing, and with some humor and a smile in Hinchtown too. He is often on the podium.

Clearly she does bring some Marketing interest with her, but her driving record just doesn't support all the interest. Wish she would smile once in a while.

NASCAR sponsorships are expensive and Danica couldn't bring home a purse unless it was one bought at Macy's.

Yes, and more specifically, his 2004 Daytona 500 pole and race win, which came exactly 6 years to the day after Sr. won his first & only 500.

you think she has a fast as hell race package or what? lol!!

a very real possibility she grabs the pole tomorrow!!!! if it happens, I may never watch nascar again.
