People have installed the Cayman rear bumper on Boxsters, too. Others have grafted the lip onto a Boxster bumper.

The charcoal grey Boxster is one damn fine looking car.

I have been looking for a Boxster recently. This morning I was given a heads-up on a 2009 base that will be hitting the market soon. As I had been looking at mostly earlier cars, I am not really familiar with the 987.2. There is one thing that I am a bit confused about, the engine. For 2009, the engine got bumped to 2.9L, confirmed by the COA. The build date for this car is 02/2009. What is the engine type for this year? (M97, 9A1). The Internet is confusing me with the search results that I have seen and I am sure that someone here can provide an answer.

I think OW Puppy is your go to guy to answer your questions. I can tell you that my '11 Cayman with 9A1 motor is a 3.4 with vario cam plus, two stage variable induction system, and has PASM and Sport Chrono. Those are the reasons that I decided to buy it. Also, at some point limited slip differential became standard on the 987.2 cars, which is a big plus. Did you happen to take a pic of the COA? That will de-code most of your questions.

I'm pretty, 98.5%, sure that all 2009 987.2 have the 9A1, not the M97. No IMS at all in a 987.2, at least, that's my understanding.

Correct, 2009 model year would be a 987.2 with the 9A1. 2/2009 would be squarely in 987.2 territory, and the 2.9L lines up with being a 9A1.
