Up talking. I never knew what it was called. God I hate it. Seems like a 20 something thing. Its really annoying with women. Its like nails on a chalk board when I hear men do it. WHY!?

Even more annoying IMHO is the manner of speaking some women use which seems like they aren't pushing enough air across their vocal cords, resulting in a buzz-like sound that literally drives me bananas.
First world problem for sure--but every time I hear someone speak like this I have to turn away immediately. It's as though they're actually trying to sound annoying on purpose. The blonde on Criminal Minds is a prime example of this---

"Why don't you go ahead and..." Drives me nuts. Why don't you say what you're going to do, and not "go ahead and" say what you're going to do? The people who use it can drop it five times in as many minutes.

Is "Like I say" (pronounced as one word) common anywhere else or is it just an Ohio thing? My doctor even used to use it. "Likeasay, go ahead and take one of these pills a day."

I am sitting in a meeting with a vendor today. Every other sentance is with an upards inflection? Like he's giving us facts and details but posing it to us as a question?
F*** this is so annoying. I almost want to vocal coach him.
