I dress like bum, I walk like a bum.
Therefore, I am a bum. Now go away. |

Well, when I was young, hitting the beach & surfing everyday, I wore them, Rainbow flip flops, then I went decades not wearing them, and a few years ago, my doc suggested that I lighten up, maybe even start wearing flip flops, so I ordered some Sperrys, and love em, don't wear them much outside of the house or the beach, but by getting a higher quality pair, they don't have the typical "flip-flop" issues other talk about, and Sperry has a great warranty, already replaced 2 pair.
but I draw the line & crocs:p |

For me, I have tender toes and I do too many things that could get them smashed. I'm in steel toed boots way more often than I'm in flip flops. |

Wow this got wild.
Hold on.... I wear flip flops often. Particularly in the evening around the house. Much better than slippers. Its got to be a regional issue. Thongs vs docksides ( thats what we called them in upstate NY ) Speaking of slippers, I like to wear the ugg slippers with the soft wholly lining. I hope that doesn't make me a degenerate. No one should make the mistake of starting a slipper thread or else nobody will speak to each other again. hmmmmmmmm ps- I say no to crocs:) |

Nothing wrong with a comfortable pair of flip flops. I like them on vacation, at the beach, or for quick turnarounds in/out of the house. Think repeated trips to the grill, taking out the trash, grabbing the mail, etc.
I, however, absolutely cannot drive the 911 wearing flip flops. The combination of bottom-hinged pedals, heavy cable clutch (flops always slide up and down my foot), and a complete loss of heal/toe ability means no flip flops driving the 911. How do you guys do it? On occasion I have resorted to keeping a pair of more secure sandals or old sneakers behind the seat I can slip on to drive and then return to the flip flops after arrival at my destination. |
