this is scary stuff to see on the local news tv. you can see by the size of the fin that it was no tiny tot. these sharks come from the southern oceans to feed and are also found off the coast of South Australia yet another of the biteys and stingers we have to be aware of here in Aus. I love that the announcer dropped a "s" bomb on the live telecast then apologized. I think under the circumstances, it was totally warranted.
The support team was there quick to get Mick the hell out of there. My dad was watching and said with that many people out there, by the water, in the water, plus it was a tournament, etc...it's something you just don't think will happen. Scary to say the least.

I feel sorry for the guy. REALLY SCARY. I believe it's a bit unusual for Jeffreys Bay to have this happen. Whereas down the road a bit near a town called East London it happens all the time
