I get more thumbs up and compliments with my Z06 compared to my old SC.

I usually wave or give a thumbs up and try to hold back my ear to ear smile.

I just try to leave them in a big, stinking, eye watering and sinus searing cloud of MFI glory. I figure if they make it home and their hair still smells, they have a story for whoever gives a rip.

Are you sure your not mistaken that for the middle finger for driving below the speed limit in the fast lane?

Sorry to generalize, but around here, every late model Corvette I see has a gray haired gentlemen driving at or below the speed limit. I don't get it.

We get the same thing here, but the worst is the british sports car drivers. Why the heck would you get a sports car so you could drive 5mph under the speed limit?....and 20mph under on the highway????

My 930 Slant is the real eye-catcher of my cars; I occasionally have people asking me about the model year when stopped somewhere (usually a gas station), it's a "fan favorite" in the Porsche section of Cars and Coffee Dallas, and on the highway it gets people's heads turning. They often give me a wave or a thumbs-up, and sometimes they bring their phones out to snap a photo. I've also had people rev their engines at me and jokingly challenge me to a race There was even one guy who held up a hand-written sign as he and his friend drove past me in their car, but unfortunately I couldn't read what he wrote since he held it up for only about two seconds or so and his handwriting wasn't the best, perhaps it was just simply "Nice car!" or something along the lines of that. I acknowledge fellow Porsche owners as well, but sometimes they don't wave back, especially the owners of the newer, water-cooled 911's (is it because mine's old and they just prefer new?). Sometimes they get awestruck and just simply stare; one time I was passing a 997 Cabriolet on the opposite side of the highway, and the driver and his two passengers all turned their heads in unison to look at my car

In return I wave back, give a thumbs-up, or thank them if they say something in acknowledgement.

My 944 Turbo on the other hand, unlike my 930 Slant people couldn't care less about it, and usually only those who actually know 944's show their acknowledgement. There was even one guy who mistook it for a Ferrari , but I kindly corrected him. Can't really blame him though, because to the untrained eye a 944 Turbo (and even my 930 Slant) may look like an old-school Ferrari from the front. In the case of my 930 Slant, anyone can tell it's a Porsche from the back thanks to the classic 911 shape.

My wife's Jeep also gets a fair bit of acknowledgement, but it's almost always from fellow Wrangler owners who give the "Jeep Wave" as they drive past, to which I or my wife (depending on who's driving) would wave back.

Out here it's the Subaru Outback drivers that park in the left lane at 90 kmh.

And I don't have grey hair yet.

If I'm with pasenger, with poker face mention location and description of gawker, people going for rides get a kick out of someone oogling over the car and usually give away their excitement to the other party.

Solo, depening on conditions:
Stopped at light, say thanks
Little to 20s kids, revs
Older ppl, wave and smile.

Only time I get annoyed is when people ask me to "burnout!!" And expect a smoke show from a car that can be stoplight dominated by a late model minivan....dumb

Around here all of us in sports cars drive like lunatics. we feel it's our responsibilty

However... Every time there is someone driving like that it's in a Volvo. WHY a Volvo. Sure you have to be pretty sensible to drive a Volvo, but driving well under the posted limit is not going to make life safer for you.

I'm P-carless these days...so it's usually me who gives the thumbs up.
Especially if it's a white....

Boomers reliving their youth, finally able to afford the toys they wanted when they were young. Lots of Harleys and Corvettes being underused by boomers these days. I'll bet a lot of 4-5 year old, low mileage units go up for sale after the new wears off.

When we would take the 911 to Frankenmuth(Little Bavaria) we would often get comments from people. Many times I noticed them taking pics with their phones or cameras. My daughter just started waving to them. She got pretty good at her "parade wave".

Makes sense. I live close to a corridor of retirement golf communities so I see this a lot. Just wish they didn't drive so slow. It's common knowledge when coming up to a multilane stoplight to not get behind a Corvette or a Buick as you will get caught in the slow traffic.

I get no attention whatsoever in my 993 (not that I'm looking for it either). The odd thing about it is, I've owned a lot of vehicles over the years and all recieved there fair amount of attention. The 993 is by far the best vehicle of the group.

The guy that is over the back fence neighbor to me has a fairly new Corvette. We followed him to his sister's house once. He never once got up to the speed limit and he accelerated slower than a 1970s Mercedes 230 diesel pulling a boat on a trailer.
