My buddy just bought a rare Porsche

What's rare about this, you may be asking?

Nope. It's a manual transmission 991. I've only seen two, including this one. He had to buy it from Connecticut, (I think), slightly used. They just aren't making them.

He had an absolute cream puff G50 Carrera coupe that was stolen off the street in L.A. Pretty much everyone I know with an air-cooled car in L.A. that drives it regularly has had it stolen. It's an epidemic.

He paid $20-something for the 3.2 Carrera a few short years ago and insurance had to give him something like $50 large using current values so he threw $30k on top of that and bought this. It's slightly faster than his old 911.

That's the driver auto-eject feature after it's been activated.

I read a while ago that only ten percent of the new cars sold are manual transmission.

Go to Carmax, set the search for some very large distance, then look at the number of automatics vs manual. Last time I checked it was at least 10-1.

Hell, I just did it, the entire Carmax inventory has over 43,000 automatics, and 2,200 manuals.
