^Super and enjoy the experience!
(Wish I hadn't look at this thread. Nostalgia has me peaking at some early Duc's.... Mike Hailwood rep's. Dang those prices are like aircooled P.911 )

Looks like a nice SS!
Sid, changing the color won't hurt the value as these bike don't sell for all that much to start with.

Awesome, Jerry - you're going to love this bike. I like to consider mine as the "early 911 of the sport bike world". There is absolutely nothing, not one single stand-out trait that makes them what they are. As a matter of fact, "on paper", they shouldn't really be any fun at all. On the right backroad, say the 40-50 mph speed limit variety though, they really come into their own. They posses a rare "synergy" wherein everything just works. It's hard to explain, and it may take awhile to start to communicate, but you are about to find out.
When I bought mine seven or eight years ago, it had 28k on the clock. It just topped 80k this summer. That kind of tells you what I think of them. Oh, and I blame Nielsen for this. Before he parked his in front of that picture window, he fired it up in his garage for me. The sound did it - there was no turning back. Enjoy...

I am excited and am just waiting for the seller to call and say come on down, let's get this thing fired up. It has sat quite a bit the last few years so I'm sure it will need a bit of TLC but it looks like the right updates and service has been done. The wait is going to kill me.
If it comes together soon enough, I hope to bring it over for Backfire Moto in Seattle in October. I have to be there for a conference anyway. Jeff, have you been?

Yup, I go to Backfire just about every month. There are some very cool bikes showing up; Seattle has a very active cafe/ratbike movement, with some really imaginative builders. Sure beats the custom billet barge chopper scene.

I've been several times with the 68 R50 but not in two years. I read the other day it has become the largest motorcycle "gathering" in the country. Very cool bikes and interesting people.
