Sorry to hear this. You shouldn't die doing what you love,

Actually, with all due respect to the departed. I want to be doing what I love to do when I die. Go with a smile on your face.

Its better to burn out than it is to rust...

Surely that should read 'die having just finished doing what you love best'

Yep. I was recently reminiscing about a friend who died in a diving accident. Someone dropped that "doing what he loved" line and I said that I doubt he loved drowning.

Ya, the only way that applies is if you are killed instant on impact. Otherwise it's a pretty ****ty way to go.

Motor racing is dangerous. Open wheel, even more so. The drivers know the risks and chose to race because they love it. I imagine that any one of them who are actively racing will tell you that they would rather risk death than give up what they love to do. I don't think that Wilson had a death wish. Rather, I think he chose to take the risk (and this case lost) rather than to live a life not doing what he loved.

Let's remember that no matter how safe you play it, someday YOU will die too. The mortality rate in this world is currently at 100%. Do what you love to do.
