Saturday night:

GF: will you grieve for me when I die?
Me: I plan on going first.
GF: Really, will you grieve for me like that guy just did in the movie we just watched? (GD chick flics!)
Me: One way or another, I'm going first. Don't make me prove this to you.

Sent via Jedi mind trick.

It started about 53 for me. Planning the divorce well before the storm hits is the only guaranteed safety. If that's not an option, you just baton down the hatches and ride it out.

hahhaha...

sorry. maybe i'll get your name in the secret santa, and send you a sweater..and a coolmax t-shirt..just in case.

+1.

Everything I read is just another 'normal' day at my house.
I take solace in the knowledge that one day I will die.

People wonder why I don't mind working in the middle east.

How do people live like that? That's emotional abandonment and grounds for "outsourcing" in my book

Wife started taking vitamins (one a day menopause formula)...and she was back to normal. I think they may have renamed them to women's 50+ because of the negative connotation in the name.

Actually, better than normal. No more hot and cold. Plenty of interest in extracurricular activities. No more of the premenopausal mood swings and other related problems. She started a workout program and lost 10-15 lbs. The exercise also helped.

Thank God the wife and I are over this. It took roughly seven years with some later outbursts. I never knew if I'd come home to Ms. Jekyll or Ms. Hyde.

It proved to me that I will never, ever understand women. My sweet angel could be a monster.

60 now and more in love than ever.

...currently trying accupuncture 'round here....DHEA has been suggested too. Find it in the vitamin aisle.

Craig, has she tried soy milk or black cohosh? Those work for some women with the flashes.

She's going to try a soy (genistein) black cohosh menopause product sold at Whole Foods. Wish me luck.

more and more i ask myself ... why the hell would i ever get married?

strupgolf 09-01-2015 03:16 PM

Try living with a wife whose " vagina doesn't
work, but also her mouth doese't work". Oh boy, but I still love her.Makes for a long evening, but such is life.

Tobra 09-01-2015 07:55 PM

Oh, and you want to keep some dark chocolate around, just in case. Dove is pretty good

surflvr911sc 09-01-2015 08:48 PM

In ten years my wife will be 50 and my daughter will be 16. Real poor planning there. Good luck!

It's really a thing... it's on the marquee of the cool old 3200 seat auditorium here... who knows, it could be coming to a venue near you...

I have the identical problem as Cloggie, and yes, believe me....it is a test as you lose any sort of intimacy or physical contact, you may as well be married to your sister....

Jeeez. I'm starting to think that hot flashes and occasional mood swings aren't so bad.

Porsche-O-Phile 09-02-2015 06:04 AM

I am so, so, so, SO happy to live on my own...

Jeezus.

In fairness, given what women have to go through (bleeding out your hoo-ha for a week every month, cramps, misery, bloating, wondering if you're going to bleed everywhere, not to mention pregnancy, puking, childbirth, mood swings, etc.) I really feel for them. But that said I don't want to be within 100 yards when the consequences of the above (insufferable complaining and light-switch "psycho mode") kick in. I'll be comfortably in bed at home asleep - by myself. Thanks. Don't hafta deal with it, not gonna' deal with it.
